Looking Glass

Looking Glass

Tired eyes in the mirror

Looking back at me

Who is that woman

Blind to all she sees

Empty and so lonely

Tired, Broken and Old

Those eyes in the mirror

The story they must hold

Once filled with such a sparkle

Of Dreams that were to come

With a glimmer shining ever so bright

They eclipsed the morning sun

Now it appears that

A veil of gray

Has covered Her hopes

Of Yesterday

The eyes that held such promise

For a New and Brighter day

Stare back coldly in the mirror

As they seem to say :

In This Mirror of Today

Journey inside of these Eyes

Each Disappointment lives Here

Eyes closed, Now Opened Wide

What was...

Can never Be Again.

Life's chances have past you by.

Eyes once filled with promises.

Now dull from tears you've cried.

Tired Eyes in the mirror

Who is this woman I see

Where has all the sparkle gone

Do Those Eyes Belong to Me?

Yes, as I look into the mirror

I seem to hear them say :

What was ...

Can never Be Again.

You Cant get back Yesterday.

Now it appears that

A veil of gray

Has covered Her hopes

Of

Yesterday

Silent Eyes

With nothing

Left to say.
