As a child you play

 with toys

And have friends

Both girls and boys

As a youngster you go to school

To learn and grow wise

Education being

The tool

As a teen  you discover

The beauty in and out

You question everything

And sometimes are in doubt

As a young man or woman

You learn what life has in store

You gain knowledge

From experience and more

Sometimes God has a good plan

And other times ...........a fork in the road

But He never gives us anything

That we cannot unload

He gives us friends  to confer with

And family to be so near

But He guides us with His love

And shows us there's no real fear

As parents we protect

But sometimes God shows us another way

We shake our head and cry

But understanding will come one day

Now I've reached that halfway mark

And it's downhill from here

But I'm not concerned

For He will guide me near

So today as I reflect

On my life as a whole

It's a series of events

The story will be told

But the most important thing to me

As you can plainly see

Is God, my friends , my life

And my family
