I am just a country girl
Who'd make a wife so fine
But I can't find a lover-boy
Who wants to say "Be mine."
I'm quite sure of that --
And we'll be getting married
When the kittens become cats.
But things' ll change quite soon.
I met a good ole country boy --
He'll marry me in June.
We will have a family
Of four or five small brats,
We always will be happy
When the kittens become cats
This is gonna last, I'm sure,
Until the end of time.
We'll live out in the country
In a farmhouse oh, so fine.
Every year in springtime
We'll go get brand-new hats
And talk about what happened
