I'm Not Your Hero
Reindeer

My Young Friend,
Don't run to me,
I can't protect you-
Need you to see,
I'm not you're hero...
Its just not me-
My Days of battle are over,
I dare not stir,
My scars have healed,
But I am weary and sore-
I can't protect you!
I stopped being a martyr
Too long ago...
Can't begin anew!
I just want to live out my days,
On this mountain with a view-
Watch the children play,
Keep an eye on the shadows in the gloom,
The time of Love and Honor is over for me,
There is nothing you can do-
Damn it!
Why can't you understand?
I can't protect you!
Don't ask me why...
My feet are too slow,
My arms are too weak,
I'm just too damn old!
I can't even lift my sword anymore-
Let alone hold up my shield...
How can I rescue you?
If I can't even kick down the door?
You need a champion,
Someone young and strong...
Someone who still believes in magic-
Someone you can charm...
Call out to the hero,
Whose heart is pure and good,
Not all ill used and putrid,
A warrior who has not returned,
From where I have been...
Ah dear one,
Run while you can,
Find Yourself someone full of hope,
There are a few left,
Under this darkened Sun...
But as for me,
I am done...
