ABOUT ME

I am a 22 year old mature student and am in my third year of a Business Studies degree. I have also completed a degree in Computer Science. Thus, I am currently based in the George Square area yet have also spent a considerable amount of time up at Kings Buildings. I believe that this amount of experience of what services are really needed by students within the University Unions at the two campuses would be extremely beneficial should I be elected.

I also frequently attend and enjoy the night-time events that are currently provided by EUSA, as well as utilising the other services provided such as the union house catering on a regular basis.

To put it bluntly, I love the unions and always have done so. I want to make sure that others can enjoy them as much as I have.

MY MANIFESTO

The burning question is why would you want to elect me?

To cut to the chase, I have the motivation, determination, desire and experience to be an extremely effective member of the Union Executive.

I am approachable, honest and accountable and I want to make EUSA and what they provide for students to be relevant, requested and successful.

Edinburgh is an increasingly competitive and dynamic marketplace and you need someone who can help address this and make sure you are getting the quality and quantity of services you all deserve and do not have to go elsewhere to get them. I feel that my Business Studies background would be extremely useful in helping with this.

Over the past 5 years, I have had a wealth of experience with EUSA, from being a former employee, to a Freshers’ Week Volunteer, a member of Teviot Row House Committee to being the current Freshers’ Week Coordinator.

I promise to do my best to ensure that what students want will be voiced to the Union Executive and as far as is possible and relevant to do so, to implement these suggestions and ideas. I have my own ideas for the Unions, which include working on the catering provisions to provide more choice and availability, providing more staff at busy times to avoid lengthy queues and ensuring that the bar promotions are on the items that students want to buy at the times they want to buy them. I would also like to ensure that the entertainments programme is regularly monitored and updated to ensure what is being provided is what students actually want and is fresh and up to date. I believe that this experience and insight, combined with my love of the Unions and desire to have as much student input into EUSA as possible, puts me in a excellent position to help EUSA provide the Union facilities and services that YOU want and YOU need.
