Topic: Raising Dutch Rabbits
Dutch rabbits fit into the small rabbit breeds catagory. Dutch rabbits weigh 4-7 pounds and are a popular exhibition animal. Dutch rabbits have normal fur about an inch long and it is very smooth. The under fur is fine, soft and dense.Dutch rabbits cost on average $45-$50 when bought from a breeder, depending on if they are of show quality or not. If a rabbit does not have papers, it is not a pedigree no matter if it's parents were purebred or not. A rabbit must have papers to proove that it is a pedigree. Without the papers, the rabbit is worth considerably less as a breeder. A pedigree rabbit may also be registered, but the two terms are not synonymous. A registered rabbit must be purebred, have a pedigree paper, and also be a mature specimen. It must then be examined by a licensed ARBA registar. They must certify the rabbit is free of apparent physical defects.
