I am selling this car because it is too small for my family. Before I put this car on Ebay it was in a fender bender. You are getting a great car that I have taken excellent care of over the years, and so did my friend that I bought it from. Brief history of the car: My friend received this car from a friend of his that had a repair shop. It needed a new engine. It sat in his back yard for about 6 months before he went to work on it. It was a DX with all original parts including the fading factory teal paint job, shabby interior, steel rims, and half an engine. It had 140,000 miles on it when he got to work… he started under the hood. Towed the car to a shop and dropped a rebuilt EX single overhead cam engine in it. The engine had 40,000 miles on it and he installed a new timing belt at that time. He also replaced nearly everything under the hood, either new or good looking items from the salvage yard. Including but not limited to a new clutch, A/C condenser, radiator & overflow reservoir, alternator, wiper fluid reservoirs among other things. After the engine was in like new working order, he went to work on the interior. About this time he bought another 92' Honda Civic SI and used it for upgrade parts for this one. He swapped out the driver and passenger seats, carpet, and other interior parts until it was clean on the inside too. He also put the whole SI exhaust system on it, and upgraded the intake to a great looking chrome and carbon fiber intake with a K&N filter. Then he took it to get painted silver, I'll admit it was kind of a cheap paint job but it looks good. Right after the paint job he was driving down the highway and his front driver side tire blew out, whipped up and hit the side mirror and messed up his new paint job a little bit on the fender, knocked one of the bolt flanges off the bumper, and loosened the side turn signal light. As he was looking for new rims, a customer drove straight from the dealer to his friends shop to get aftermarket rims & tires for his 2004 Honda Civic SI. So my friend bought the Honda rims and tires with 12 miles on them, and they are still in perfect condition. I bought the car from him and put a new distributor cap, spark plugs, wires, battery, & new starter in it. I replaced both of the side mirrors, and painted them black. And then I went to work on the stereo. I used to do professional stereo installation and this being my 4 th Honda Civic I routed the power for the stereo head unit straight from the battery to a power distribution block under the dash, because Honda wires the cigarette lighter and radio on the same circuit unless you do this your radio will hum while you charge your cell phone. I used the “radio's power wire” for a second DC power plug mounted under the passenger seat, great for a laptop. I installed an Alpine CDM-7874 CD-player stereo using a Molex connector in the back so I can slip the stock radio back in without a mess of wires. I ran the RCA's, power and speaker wires back to the trunk where I installed a custom molded fiberglass box with one Kicker 10” woofer and a 260watt 4 channel amplifier. I ran two sets of speaker wire to each front door for component speakers in the front. Right now it has a pair of kicker 4.25” mid drivers in the front that do the job. I set up this system to be able to drop in JL audio speakers and amplifier, just haven't done it yet. If you want to buy the components I'll hook it up for you for free. It needs an A/C compressor. I just took it to the local Honda dealer after the accident had them replace the Clutch master & slave cylinder the, brake master cylinder, and the driver side axle cause it had a ripped boot with sand in it. It cost me $1,600. The Honda mechanic said the car was in PERFECT MECANICAL CONDITION and he would have bought the car for his son if I brought it to him 2 months ago when he was looking. I always change the oil and filter every 3, 6, & 9 thousand miles on all my cars (so I don't have to keep track). The accident: I was stopped in the middle of a busy intersection with a green light. A car hit me from behind making me slide into the unmarked police car in front of me… Ouch! It wasn't bad enough in the front to set off the airbag. The rear bumper popped in and out which cracked the paint. It bent the end of the muffler; it apparently twisted up the hinges for the rear tailgate enough so the hatch doesn't open. And if you look down the passenger side you can see a slight ripple over the tire in the rear fender. The driverside window was down when I got hit, it apparently bent the tracks that the glass slides on. The window kept jumpping out of the track so I put it in the up postition and took of the handle so I wouldn't roll it down accidently. In the front the bumper popped in and out as well, and is now misaligned with the hood. The hood doesn't appear damaged at all and neither do the fenders but they are misaligned. Nothing in the engine compartment was damaged including the radiator and the condenser which are sitting right behind the bumper. The estimateI got from the insurance damage appraisal was 2 thousand dollars worth of body work but that's from a Ford dealership. Mileage: Car: 180,000 | Engine: 80,000 | Timing belt: 40,000 This car needs: Body work, muffler, paint job, A/C compressor, & Timing belt in 20,000 miles Note: Buyer pays any shipping cost. Pick up or shipping will take place after payment is received in full. |
