I grew up in a town called Cumberland. Cumberland is located on Vancouver Island (smack in the middle).
Cumberland is part of three other cities (Courtenay and Comox) that make up the comox valley. Cumberland is the smallest
of the 3 as there is only 5000 or so people that live there. I could not of asked for a better place to live when I was growing
up. When I was little there was the coal mines to ride bikes and walk around, the swamps to go get wet even when my mother asked
me to stay clean and Comox lake to cool down and go play in the water in the summer times. As I aged I went to Cumberland Jr. School.
This school was great The teachers where outstanding! I could have not asked for a better school to go to.
I was a punk back then but what kid isnt? Then I went to courtenay for high school which is could vanier, but we wont talk
about courtenay right now. In our little village the few business that stick out is:
Maples Cafe
Home Store
Mini Mart
and
Ma-row-cheese <- thats how it is pronounced I dont know the true spelling
