Chapter 2's Top 5 Concepts
Chapter 2 includes a lot of material. These are the top 5 things that we thought you'd most likely forget...
The Law of Detachment and The Law of Syllogism
- THE LAW OF DETACHMENT- with the law of detachment, you are given the conditional statement and the hypothesis again. The result is the conclusion statement.
- Example : If Bob does his chores, than he can go to the movies. Bob does his chores. ((Therefore, Bob goes to the movies.))
- THE LAW OF SYLLOGISM - with the law of syllogism, you are given two conditionals where the conclusion of the first is the same as the hypothesis of the second. The result is a conditional with the hypothesis from the first conditional and the conclusion of the second conditional.
- Example : If you work, then you earn money. If you earn money, then you go shopping. ((Therefore, if you work, then you go shopping.))

- Symmetric Property - if a = b, then b = a.
- Transitive Property - if a = b, b = c, then a = c.
- **Congruent segments, congruent angels, and congruent triangles are reflexive, symmetric and transitive.
