Area of Equal Triangles

• A = 1/4 ( V3¯ ) s²
• **s = one side of the triangle, V3¯ = the square root of 3, multiply those together and by 1/4 and get your answer

Area of a Regular Polygon

• A = 1/2 P a
• **P = perimeter of the polygon, a =apothem ((look below for definition))

What is an Apothom?

• the distance from the center of the polygon to the midpoint of any side
• **USE TRIGONOMETRY TO FIND THE APOTHOM
• ex: if you are given the hypotenuse and the adjacent angle = 30, you will have to use trig to find out what the apothom, or
