Call
My Bluff Rules
'Call My Bluff' is, perhaps, one of the easiest games to explain and
has turned out one of the most fun to play. It revolves around a panel
and a host, who sets words for the panel to define. Two teams play
against each other and the first word goes
to team A. The word is read out by the host and he then offers each
pannellist a maximum of three minutes to deliver their definition of
the word, along with a little story to make it seem more plausible.
However, usually these stories all turn out to be so exaggerated that
each one of the definitions could easily be false. Chris starts off
proceedings with his definition, which are usually elaborate and more
plausible than the other two. The Host then asks Antony to give his
definition, at which point he dismisses what Chris has said before
launching into his own definition, usually more concise than his other
two pannellists. Finally, the Host invites Dr Reeson to give his
definition and story, which turn out to be lengthy and highly amusing
despite the fact they are made up on the spur of the moment.
Team A is then asked to choose which they think is the right
definition. If they get it right, then they get a point. If they get it
wrong, the point goes to team B, who also get their chance to hear
three more definitions for one obscure word. Play carries on like this
until they run out of words or the bell sounds [whichever comes first]
and prizes are awarded to the winners.
Now that was much easier to explain, wasn't it?!
