Monica started out as the compulsive one of the group. She hated her mother, who favored Ross, even when she found out that his ex-wife was a lesbian and pregnant with Ross's child. Monica has always had aspirations to get married and have a baby, and now it looks like both of those things could soon be fulfilled. However, many years ago, she was the one who couldn't get a decent boyfriend - until she met Richard. He was everything that she wanted and the 21 year age difference didn't matter to Monica. However, it was the age difference that broke them up as Monica wanted to have kids at some point, and Richard already had kids from his marriage - grown-up kids. After they split up, she took a long time to get over him, and by the time she had done that, she found Chandler who wasn't exactly perfect. But he was funny, and charming, and before she knew it, she found herself in love with him. Things worked out well - so well in fact that after 2 years they got engaged, and a year later, they were married.
