Michelle was a registered nurse recently divorced, caring for a young son. She decided to move back to New York. She took a job caring for a patient at home, with multiple sclerosis. Each day, Mrs. Booth's son came to visit his mother. Michelle thought this man was wonderful. A loving caring person, stopping to visit and spend time with his sick mother, Michelle and Donald soon became friends. Mrs. Booth died, Michelle was there for Donald to offer support and friendship.

Shortly after that, Mr. Booth became terminally ill with brain cancer. Michelle took on the job of caring for Mr. Booth. Donald asked Michelle to move in with him. He was living at his parent's house. Michelle and her young son moved in with Donald. After the death of Mr. Booth, Donald's sister who helped take care of their parents, committed suicide. Michelle and her son continued to live in the house with Donald.

Their friendship soon turned into something more. They fell in love. Michelle became pregnant. They decided to get married. She was getting to know another side of the man she loved. While pregnant, he became angry and frustrated over something, throwing Michelle down a flight of stairs. Of course, he promised never to do this again, or to ever hurt her again

Michelle sprained her ankle from the fall. She decided to take her son and return to her mother's home. Donald called and kept calling, pleading for her to return home. She finally gave in and went back to him.

She soon finds out her fairy tale marriage was just that. A fairy tale. Donald would become nasty and hateful to her. She thought if she stayed with him, her love for him would make it all better. He had lost both parents within a couple of years of each other, and his sister. She knew he was hurting from this. She hoped and prayed she could help him.

His anger returned as his drinking and drug use increased. When he sobered up, he was sorry and promised never to hurt Michelle again. They had a beautiful little young person named, Sailor, Michelle named her after a grandfather. Having their beautiful baby, Michelle was hoping this would help her husband ease the pain of losing his parents and sister. He liked being a daddy, dotting on their baby. Michelle thought he would give up his drinking and drug use for fatherhood.

Happiness was not to last for long, for Michelle.. Again, he went back to his bad habits, The abuse started all over again. Michelle went out and got a restraining order to keep him away. She could not live like this any longer. Nor, did she want her baby growing up watching her mother being abused. Again, he made more promises to Michelle. She wanted to believe him and gave him another chance.

Her young son was not happy learning they would be returning to live with Donald. His new stepfather was jealous of him and would say mean things for only him to hear. Donald would whisper in his ear, how much he hated him and he wanted him to leave. Michelle was heartbroken when her young son told her what Donald had been whispering to him. She decided to send her son back home to live with his father.

Once again, their marriage seem to be on an even keel Michelle and Donald were expecting another baby. Michele was thrilled by the news. Donald was not happy when he found out. He started abusing Michelle, drinking and doing drugs. Michelle tried to work it out, making more excuses for his actions. Thinking once again, things would change after the baby was born. This time, it was a beautiful son, They named him Wesley. It was hard on Michelle with the new baby. Donald was not happy about having a son. He did not act like he wanted him. Nor did he want Michelle giving any of her attention to another male.

Michelle thought she could make Donald love their baby and make the marriage work. Then she found out about him having a girlfriend on the side. She felt hurt and betrayed. Once more, she put her feeling into her lyrics and poems.

Michelle left him and moved to Idaho to be closer to her father. She hope this time, she could be free of Donald, his abuse, and cheating ways. She wanted to start a new life for herself and her children. But it was not going to happen the way Michelle planned. Not long after moving to Idaho, Donald showed up. Again making all kinds of promises and acting like the man Michelle fell in love with. Once more, he started drinking and doing drugs and then the abuse started. Michelle found professional help for him. He went into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center. He graduated free of his demons, the alcohol and drugs. Michelle was proud of him and happy for a short time. .

Michelle loved music, throughout all the abuse, she never gave it up. Her only means of getting free from all the pain. This was her outlet from it all. She was a wonderful singer. When she was only fourteen she formed a band and started writing her own songs and poems. Michelle was one tiny lady, just under 5 foot. You would never know she was such a petite thing. She had one powerful and sultry voice, she would bellowed out her songs of being abused, the violence and betrayal, of her marriage.

Michelle was a strong willed woman. She would stand up for what she believed in. Her oldest son, Jaryd was born with a disability, it was cerebral palsy. She went all the way to New York's state legislature on a mission, to get more rights and attention for children with this type of disability.

However, she just was not strong enough to push Donald away and keep him away from her and their children. She would always make excuses for him to family and friends. She told everyone he would never hurt the children.

The police were called numerous times in each state they lived in. Michelle would get restraining orders after restraining orders to keep him again. However, she would always take him back, wanting to believe his promises, thinking this time it would be different, that he would change.

She could never put into a song what was about to happen in her life.. Michelle was a caring loving person, who could never image this kind of anger brewing inside her husband, If she had any idea, she would have left him and would never let him back into her life nor the children's life.

On January 10, 2005, Michelle was on the phone with her mother when Donald came home, high on alcohol or drugs, maybe both. He was beside himself, wanting to start in on her. Not waiting, he started yelling at her. She told her mother it would be ok and then got off the phone quickly.

The next day, Michelle's mother called to check on her and the children. She did not get an answer to her phone calls. She called the sheriff's office. Dispatch sent a deputy out to check on things at the house.

The deputy saw a body through the window and called for more officers. After the others arrived they went inside. They found Michelle upstairs in the loft with gunshot wounds. They found Sailor on the stairs. They found Wesley in his room. It was the worse crime scene most of these officer had ever walked into.

      The face of a murderer.

He looks innocent enough. However, we all know looks can be deceiving!!

In Loving Memory of A Special Father

      Gary Alexander Neuvert

      January 30, 1942 - December 8, 2006

Because of this tragedy, another life was taken. Michelle's dad died of a massive heart attack, (or a broken heart). When someone you love has been murdered, it causes a rippling effect through everyone's life..

      A note from Michelle's step-mother:

Michelle was a very strong woman, strong enough to fight for her son's disability in the NY legislation, just not strong enough to rid herself and her babies from the abuse in which she lived. Michelle had the God given right to live her life, to pursue her music career, and be a Mother. Michelle had the God given right to watch her beautiful daughter Sailor grow and become a woman. Michelle had the God given right to watch her son Wesley grow and become a man. Michelle had the God given right to be a Mother to Jaryd.

Michelle loved everybody. She enjoyed her music, her horses, and the rest of her animals. On January 10, 2005, three precious lives were ended, by evil. Michelle kept her pain inside and wrote music and poems of the abuse that she suffered. I ask Michelle one time, "Have you ever fought back?" She said "No Trish, if I did, he would kill me." However, Michelle fought back that night, there was evidence of a terrible fight. I will forever wonder why she chose to fight back that night.

You can spend a lifetime with the IF's and WHY's, but there is just no explanation for why this happened. Donald was a cruel, evil, selfish person. One could not even call a man. A man would never hit his wife, much less, what he did to his family.

Michelle left behind a son, father, mother, step-father, step-mother, brothers and a host of aunts and uncles, that loved her and her babies. There is not a day that goes by that Michelle, Sailor and Wesley are not missed.

If you are, or know some one that is in an abusive relationship, please get out. Do not end up like Michelle and her children. This family will never get over the loss of them. Click on the link for help in Idaho and New York. Click on the email link if you need someone to talk too.
