Battle.net lag
Blizzard goes after the duplication hack

Blizzard has made an announcement about the reasons around the lag in Battle.net, as well as some bugs that happened to Druids:

The latest item duplication exploit that occurred over the last several days has been stopped. The lag that has been seen over the last several days on the Diablo II realms was a result of the massive user duplication efforts.

Currently Diablo II realms are very unstable due to the effects of duplicate items upon the servers. We are working to fix this instability as quickly as possible.

A reminder: Any individual caught using a hack on Battle.net (including, but not limited to "dupe" hacks and "server crash" hacks) may have their items, characters or accounts deleted. It is a violation of Battle.net's Terms of Service to utilize duplicated items. Do not use them. The Battle.net team is devoted to nullifying all hacks and exploits on Diablo II realms as well as catching individuals exploiting our games.

Also, we have fixed crashes involving Druids wearing items totaling +13 to all skills, and a bug with +20 to wereform when switched to that wereform.

Blizzard strikes
Several Battle.net deleted

After warning players several times that they (Blizzard) would not tolerate cheating, Blizzard took the following actions:

In keeping with our aggressive stance against hacks and cheats, we are currently devoting our full attention to deleting a wide-range of duplicated items from Diablo® II and Diablo® Lord of Destruction™ characters on Battle.net. Only items that have been used illegally to duplicate new items, or the duplicated items themselves will be affected.
In addition, the accounts of several repeat offenders - including those who use illegal hacks - have been deleted, and offenders' CD-Keys have been permanently disabled. We will continue to monitor the Battle.net Realms for malicious players.

We regret having to employ these extreme measures, however, certain unscrupulous players impair the gameplay of the Diablo II community as a whole, and severe action is now both warranted and required.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. If you would like to report additional instances of hacking and duplication, please contact us at hacks@blizzard.com. Thank you again for your continued support
