Wife's Clever Foresight

His
wife was out of town
on an extended well planned business trip.
After work he could just laze around
pretend to be captain of his ship.
It was early Monday morning
and things were not too good.-
As the new day was dawning
on his third week of bachelorhood.-
Beside him no gal so sweet
as he wakes up in the mornin.-
After a night of half restless sleep
cause aside him she wasn't snorin.-
Smell of the auto coffee pot a brewin
drifted lazily up around his nose.-
Caused him to rise and stumble across the room
as on the dresser he acutely stubbed his toes .-
He cussed and leaned against the wall -
Then hopped into the kitchen.
To pour a mug of coffee
then limped on down the hall. -
After a taste of morning coffee
into the mirror he gazed.-
No kiss from her was waiting softly
so there was no need to shave .-
But he best hop in the shower
before another aroma gets too lofty.-
And begins to overpower
the enticing smell of coffee.-
Out of the shower drippin wet
finding only empty towel racks.-
Off to the linen closet a towel to get
saw only a hand towel left of the stack .-
Back toward the bedroom
he hobbled down the hall.
He slid open his dresser drawer
on the bed he had to take a seat.-
As the look on his face turned to horror
saw no clean skivies nor socks for his feet .-
As he opened the closet doors
there he faced another quandary.-
Soiled clothes strewn all over the floor
he had no idea how to do the laundry.-
Clad in "her" clean pink robe he did retreat -
went back to kitchen for more coffee .-
Sticky stuff clung to his bare feet -
from the floor he had gotten so sloppy.-
As he sat there and pondered his plight-
how would he get the house in order.-
Before her return home tonight-
else he would be a dog house boarder .-
Twas then by some weird coincidence~
The phone rang he heard a marketer say-
Were offering service of a maid or housekeeper .-
That if needed could start that very day -
If in a full time position they would keep her -
Now with no reason to feel so blue-
for him that timing sure was great and ok.-
It would be a great gift for his lovely gal Sue-
A maid is what she had yearned for anyway.-
As he patted him self on the back-
he was heard to say.-
I fixed that mess hip hooray-
and my hyde I sure did save.-
Wink-Wink
Sure is amazing what a woman knows
and can do even tho she is far away-
The limo brought her home
and as he met her at the door .-
About the clean house she didn't rave. -
Instead said honey you I did miss -
But if you want a hello kiss -
then you best go shave .-
