Trick Or Treat

It’s spooky Halloween season
That gives us all good reason
To dress up in costumes ghostly,
A fun time for children mostly.

Hobgoblins will roam the street
Searching for tasty goodies to eat,
Ringing doorbells they will greet
With a chorus of “trick or treat”?

Odd and scariest spooks galore
Will be scurrying to every door,
Trying to be the first ogre in line
As adults fill bags one at a time.

Worn-out parents and children alike
Will brave the ghastly autumn night
Harvesting treasures of sweet delight
While babies cry from gruesome fright.

As All hallows’ Eve comes to an end
And time for little monsters to go in
They head for home with faces grim,
Dragging goody sacks behind them.

Have yourself a rowdy Halloween,
Hope it’s the spookiest you’ve seen,
We wish you bountiful “trick or treat”
And you bag lots of sweet stuff to eat.
