Ok well I'm going to be doing all the updating and everything on this site so if it looks bland or something is broken on it, give me a while and I will fix it. Mainly this is going to be an after-the-fact updating site from my accident, and also one just to have for myself. Much much more will be added to this I'm sure!
My name is Nicholas Dawson. My life entirely changed on the night of December 23rd, 1999. I was on my way home from hanging out with some friends when my car slid on black ice resulting in me having a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) The link at the bottom of this page (How it all began) is the website that was used to update everyone, friends and family, because I was in a rehab hospital out in boston and mom really didn't feel like playing receptionist.
I am still living at home for the time being until I can find a place on my own to live in. I haven't been to any kind of rehab (pt ot or speech) for quite a while now. I'm not on any medication for anything either. My memory is still the same(I forget things quite often) although my methods for remembering things is a TAD bit better.
Despite what the first update site says, Kim and I aren't together anymore. We just grew apart, had differences and went our seperate ways.
After the accident I did go back to Big Y for a little while and then took a break to focus on college. After some time I worked at a Dunkin Donuts for 4 years and they decided to let me go so I went around looking once again. In the mean time I was able to work at a daycare center that, lucky for me, my mom was the director at. That was absolutely the best. Those kids were just fantastic to be around however the job was a good drive away and really didn't pay enough to make it worth it. So then I set out, applied a few more places and this time I found myself at an Ocean State Job Lot for a little over a year. The job is great, I think. There are awesome people to work with. Corporate had to cut hours though, so I got laid off because I am only part time, although they have said it is only temporary.

Well, I got a new job at Walmart in the garden center. It's actually a pretty cool job, keeps me busy and the people I work with are all pretty cool. I've beeen there a few weeks now.
I took a little vacation out to Arizona to visit my brother. He seems to be doing well enough. He's looking for a new job after working at a home depot for long enough lol. I met his new girlfriend and she seems pretty cool.
Mom keeps whining about how much she hates the house and wants it sold lol.

Well I have made a drastic change in things. left Walmart and I've moved over to new york to live with my parents for now until I can save up to get my own place. Currently I am just taking things as they come, and hoping soon that I can get a job somewhere and start saving away! I miss all my friends, but at least I can still be in contact with them =). As the song "closing time" says "every new beginning comes from some other beginnings' end". So, lets hope this new beginning has many new doors to open along with new adventures!

ok for those that don't know, long story short i had a song i submitted to nashvillesongservice and they produced it. i got the cd in the mail just recently and it sounds amazing! how many people can say they wrote a song and had it professionally produced and pitched to the industry? hehe

sorry it's been a while. had a few uphills and downhills with things. after re-applying multiple times i was finally able to get back into walmart to at least have a job.

been at walmart for 5 years now, cross trained in mulitple departments and still enjoying my job =)
i have a son and i absolutely love being a father =)
