In Loving Memory

Edna Louise (Wigger) Jennings

Mom was born on August 25, 1924 in Missouri. On March 20, 1942, she married James Gilliam Jennings. To this Union of sixty-four years, five children were born:
Alta, Barbara, James Michael, John and Karen.

As years went by, Mom was blessed with eight grandchildren:

Roberta, Larry, Roger, Bryan, Keith, Lisa, Kerry and Daniel.

The branches of our family tree grew throughout the years and Mom was blessed with twelve great-grandchildren:

Michael, Derrick, Damian, Jacinda, Erika, Haley, Ivan, Ryan, Devon, Kylie, Kaya and Kaleb.

I think that all Mom ever wanted in her life was her very own home and family. At times, life was very difficult but as long as Mom had us, she never seemed to care how bad things might get. Always resourceful, we made it through those bad times and the bonds of love grew ever stronger. She and Dad instilled in us the best in life, the best in morals, the best in love and happiness. She was our Mother, our Best Friend, our Greatest Defender and Protector. And, she was Dad's Wife, Greatest Love and Soul Mate. We learned through them that life is not always easy or fair, but that so much of what your life becomes, is up to you. They gave us the greatest gift that a parent can give ... themselves and for this, and so much more, we will always be grateful.

Mom passed away on September 12, 2006 at 2:44 p.m. Our hearts are heavy with sadness and pain. Memories temporarily dimmed by the grief we feel at our loss. So many emotions fill us; anger, sadness, denial, guilt. We questions ourselves, our actions and in-actions ... there are no answers. While time may heal most wounds, even time cannot erase the lonliness we feel in her absence, the longing to touch her face, to hold her hands, to kiss her forehead, to tell her that we love her and need her, want her with us always and forever. Nothing can fill the empty place in our hearts that only Mom could fill. We know that in time, some of the pain will ease, the memories will come glistening back into our minds and smiles will replace some of our tears. But always we will think of her, will love her and miss her. Always she will be in our thoughts, our hearts and prayers. Always, she is our Mom and we love her!

The song playing is: A Song For Mama
By: BoysIIMen

Lyrics:
You taught me everything
And everything you've given me
I always keep it inside
You're the driving force in my life, yeah
There isn't anything
Or anyone that I can be
And it just wouldn't feel right
If I didn't have you by my side
You were there for me to love and care for me
When skies were grey
Whenever I was down
You were always there to comfort me
And no one else can be what you have been to me
You will always be you always will be the girl
In my life for all times

Chorus:
Mama, mama you know I love you
Oh you know I love you
Mama, mama you're the queen of my heart
Your love is like
Tears from the stars
Mama, I just want you to know
Lovin' you is like food to my soul
Yes it is (5x)

You're always down for me
Have always been around for me even when I was bad
You showed me right from my wrong
Yes you did
And you took up for me
When everyone was downin' me
You always did understand
You gave me strength to go on
There was so many times
Looking back when I was so afraid
And then you come to me
And say to me I can face anything
And no one else can do
What you have done for me
You'll always be
You will always be the girl in my life
Chorus
Never gonna go a day without you
Fills me up just thinking of you
I'll never go a day without my mama
Chorus
Yes you are
