Volunteering for us, what to expect
We DO offer an exchange program. For every fours hours of volunteering, you will earn one hour of riding, and in some cases lessons (if needed). The hours will be kept track of and coupons will be given out. In the event we do not have a horse that is rideable. The hours will be saved as they do not expire.
Since I (Melissa V) am not always present at our facility, there are people left in charge in my absense. The people will guide you on the chores at hand for the day.
All volunteers are responsible for keeping their time sheet up to date and correct. You will not be given a second chance if you are found to be adding extra time that is not earned.
We DO keep some helmets for our volunteers. Or you can bring your own. We have a very strict policy. Volunteers must always wear proper attire, boots and helmet when working with or near a horse
All volunteers are required to sign a release of liability. If you are under 18 years old, your parent or legal guardian must sign this form for you
We DO provide volunteers with their own folder, with time sheets, and our rules and guidelines enclosed.
The tasks a volunteer must perform include but are not limited to the following.
Grooming, exercising, bathing our rescue horses. Weeding, mucking stalls, picking up trash, and whatever else needs done to help maintain our facility where our rescue horses live until they are adopted.
We are a very down to earth, and fun group of people. Yet we do maintain a professional attitude. If you would like to join our team to learn more about horses, or just to help out horses in need, contact us by email. CountryGirlHorseRescues@yahoo.com
We look forward to hearing from you wether you be a potential adopter, or a potential volunteer.
