COUNTRY CLUB SKEET LEAGUE

January 2nd, 2010

Glen Oak comes from behind and wins the second shoot at Medinah led by Pat Bartel who shot the only perfect 50 of the day.  They took the lead about 1:30 and never looked back.  Pat was followed closely by Al Forst and Artie Tessmann, here-in-after known as the twin ankle biters.  Jim Kneupfer shot a net 48 1/2 followed by Tony Dupasquier, who took over the lead position in my usual squad, and shot a net 48.

St. Charles came in 2nd place, 1.5 birds behind.  Jim Gilman, Lynn Snow, and Jerry Reynolds led their team with triple 49's followed by Pat Casey and Mike Skratsky with twin 48's.  A big thank you goes out to St. Charles for a job well done hosting the league this past week even when the shoot was held at Medinah.  They did a great job in keeping referees available for all of the squads.  That is always well appreciated by yours truly..

Another big thank you goes out to Medinah for a job well done in letting St. Charles use their facility today.  Rick Gattone, Dave Stewart, and Tim Wolande also had triple 49's.  Rick and Tim are B and C class shooters respectively.  Brad Klune, moving up to C Class shooter made the team, for the 2nd week in a row, with a net 47 1/2 and JT del Alcazar, Jim Falcione, Jr., Joe Gattone, Jr., and Byron Udell all cried out "me too" and made the team with 47's.

Jim Young took over the leader position for Oak Park with a 49 score.  He was followed closely Kevin Price, Jr who followed up his stellar performance at the last shoot with a net 48 on the board.  Kevin is now a D shooter and moving on up..  Ben ver Halen also posted a 48 and he was followed by Spencer Kirk with a net 46.  Scott Kirk finished the squad with a net 45 1/2.

In case you haven't noticed, because each team's worst score drops off, the difference between 1st and last place is a very tight 3 birds.  I love a close race, don't you?  The day was sunny and very cold, but there were a total of twelve 25-straights.

Please note that the next shoot has will be at  Oak Park on January 16th.  We'll see you there.

Sincerely,
