Southern Women
Diary of a Steel Magnolia

Life in the South is slow & leisurely. Girls are raised to be as delicate as a Magnolia bloom & be genteel even if it's in the middle of a hurricane. The nicetys of good breeding must be exhibited at all times & at all costs. That's why we Southern gals learn to deliver a punch with a soft, sweet smile & a slow as molasses drawl.
This page is dedicated to my Momma's, My MeMaw's & my Aunt Edna, who were masters of the art & true Steel Magnolias to the end, to my lovely sister Tina, my daughters, my granddaughter Brooke and neice Marissa who are being raised in the tradition, to the one man in my life who will never disappoint me - my nephew Trey, my friend & ally since childhood, Charlotte, who has shared my mischief- making since we played in diapers under the Catawba trees, Carolyn, my sil - I divorced her brother & kept her (she was the best part of the deal), Debbie, my work partner & friend for 10 years, In memory of Mary Ann, my soul sister who loved fart jokes, Shelly who teaches me by example every day how to be kind & a better person, Sweet Brenda, my cohort in crime who shares so much with me & always makes me laff & all my Newgroup Sisters who are my extended family. I am honored & blessed by your presence in my life.
