Loch Ewe was a hive of activity during World War II,
when it was an assembly point
for ships on convoy to Russia. Aultbea is an
excellent base for hill walking, bird wtching,
loch fishing or just relaxing, and taking it easy.
In the village there are two well stocked
shops. There are also two hotels, a post office,
and a filling station within walking distance.
