The house has a wood furnace in the basement, and each room has an electric built-in wall heater or electric baseboard heat for when you don't want to fire up the wood furnace. There is a window air conditioner in the main bedroom. The house is full of big windows which all work and they all have screens.
The water comes from a cistern. It is set up to collect rainwater, but water can be bought in town at the fire station for 25 cents/100 gallons. There is a new hot water heater (30 gallon) and a new pump in the basement. The bathroom and kitchen are fully plumbed and there is a septic tank in good working condition.
