AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF GLENDINOREE PROMOTIONS LTD.

INTRODUCTION

The company was originally formed in 1996, and the first ever Catton Park festival took place in June 1997. We took these steps because we were aware that there is a tremendous pool of talent amongst British Country acts, but that the problems of getting this talent seen and heard can seem, at times, to be almost insurmountable.

Various opinions as to why this situation exists in a country which has produced world class stars in every other musical genre have been expressed by a number of writers in the various County Music magazines, but simply complaining will not remedy the picture.

We therefore set ourselves the following targets:

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

1. To provide a platform for the exposure of British Country Music. The Catton Park festival was very favourably reported on in every major British Country Music magazine, and was frequently mentioned on the various local radio programmes featuring Country Music.

Whilst the Catton Park festival is, unfortunately,  no more, we continue to work towards our objectives via a number of smaller ventures as detailed elsewhere on this site.

2. To act as a focal point for the music industry itself to see and hear the acts.

3. To enable new and emerging acts to gain confidence in appearing before a large audience.

4. To continue to search for and create opportunities for acts to be seen and new writers to have their work heard.

We believe that if we continue for long enough, and to shout loudly enough, the music and broadcasting industries MUST respond positively!
