Work for the Dole Project Completed
November 2002
The DDHRS’s first Work For The Dole scheme will come to a successful conclusion on 9 October. Since commencement on April 15th 2002, we have had a total of 30 people attend the Project. During this time they have restored a vintage livestock wagon built in the 1950’s, the two platform trolleys and motorized section car that is on display at Pittsworth. Also a quad trailer, another motorized section car and other historical pieces, these will also be on display with the Loco at Pittsworth at the completion of the Project. All participants have enthusiastically embraced the restoration and rejuvenation of classic rail rolling stock. They have shown a keen interest in learning the skills required in this restoration process. The final day and Presentation was held on Wednesday the 9th October at 10am, 12 Goggs Street, Toowoomba.
