The archaeological section of the County Museum in Deva, composed of the results obtained by excavations, acquisitions, and some fortuitous discoveries contains a rich and valuable base of museum material, ranging from the first stone age, to the feudal period.
This guide is based on the original guide book written by Ion Andritoiu and Liviu Marghitan.
THIS SECTION OF THE WEB SITE IS STILL UNDER CONSTRUCTION. MOST OF THIS TRANSLATION IS STILL IN IT'S ROUGH DRAFT STAGE. CHECK BACK LATER FOR A BETTER VERSION. MORE PICTURES WILL BE ADDED LATER AS WELL.
Notes About Dates
1 - The dates in this guide are stated as years CE (Common Era - a more modern term used for AD) and BCE (Before Common Era – which is the equivalent to BC). Therefore Rome was founded in 753 BCE (753 BC), Dacia was conquered in 106 CE (106 AD) and this part of the web page was written in 2002 CE (2002 AD).
2 - When dates relative to the “present” or when “current” events are mentioned, please be aware that this book was originally written in 1974.
