CIMMERON RANCH

The Cimmeron Ranch, based in Van, TX (near Tyler), boasts a growing population of pure American Indian Horses, and is devoted to the promotion and preservation of this rare and wonderful breed. We started out with a handful of grade horses back in 1994, but were soon introduced to the Indian horse breed by some new friends in Canton,TX. After competing with them for several years, we decided to buy our own spanish horses and couldn't stop with just one, or two, or ten. We now boast a population of 26 purebreds and expect a handful more in the spring.

Our "home" registry is now the American Indian Horse Registry.

But we are also one of the charter members of the new Horse of the Americas Registry Inc.

Rigoletto(standing stud)

Rigoletto

Rigoletto (SMR 2110, AIHR O-3356, HOA pending), out of Miss Lightning (SMR 1480) by Chief Masada (SMR 890) "Riggy" is a multiple national champion in halter, performance, and speed events. We have used him for children's riding lessons, herding horses and cattle, playday eventing, full contact jousting, trail riding, American frontier period combat re-enacting, and parades. He is a proven producer of blue and red roan foals. The temperament of his foals reflects his own laid back attitude with an enjoyment for working with humans. Rigoletto's stud fee for this year is $200.

Best side forward.Blessing (AA- )-"Blessing" (Retired) is a 1993 model Arab/Quarter Horse cross. He was one of the first horses we had and was instrumental in the founding and building of Cimmeron Ranch.

Cimmeron--"Cimmi" (Retired) is a 1992 model Arab/Quarter Horse cross. He was also one of our first horses and is well know in NETASA for his fiery temperment. Cimmi is one of the best horses you could use for trail riding, but hates going into an arena. At the 1997 AIHR National Show he reared and fell over backwards on David, who was riding him in the Forest Escape event. The wreck was caused by faulty tack that pinched his mouth and increased his fear of arenas. Despite his many problems, he is still one of the best loved members of our ranch.

Cimmeron Cito--"Cito" (Retired) is a 1994 model Arab/Quarter cross. "Cito" and Joseph have won many awards together including National Champion 1997 Junior class in AIHR.

Twister--(Retired) is a 1994 model Arab/Quarter cross. He and Jessica have competed in many AIHR events together.

The Two Legged People of Cimmeron Ranch

1) Carlann--Out of "Ruthann Smith" by "Carl Smith" "Carlann" is a 1956 model Caucasion mare with an even disposition. "Carlann" has been noted for working to hard as a Firefighter and Paramedic for the city of Dallas. "Carlann" has had five foals, which she raised on her own since 1991. Caution!! Do not anger!! Carlann and her foals participate in living history activities, such as Mountain Man "Rendezvous" and "Renaissance Faires". Carlann is an excellent marksman with a rifle, bow, and tomahawk.

2) David--out of "Carlann Frey" by "Richard E. Frey". "David" is a 1979 model Caucasion colt with reddish brown mane and copper beard. This colt has a "difficult" disposition, but works well with four legged brothers. Can be cagey in a stall, and has a tendency to travel on a whim.

3) Michelle Frey--out of "Eileen Taylor" by "Edward Taylor". "Michelle" is a 1970 model mare who keeps her husband "David" under control. She is known for her missionary work in Russia, Ireland, and Australia. Michelle is expecting her first foal in the spring of 2005.

4) Joseph--"Joseph" is a 1986 model colt out of "Carlann Frey" by "Richard E. Frey". "Joseph" is a "difficult" colt, but is very smart. He is known for crashing the family computer, but can fix it almost as fast as he crashes it. He will probably make a great computer tech. when he comes of age. Joseph will be riding "Braveheart" this year in competition.

5) Jessica--"Jessica" is a 1988 model filly out of "Carlann Frey" by "Richard E. Frey". "Jessica" is known for her short attention span, but is expected to grow out of it (by her dam at least). She is currently riding her mare, "Keeper of the Clouds".

6) Michael Berck--"Mike" is a bear of a man known for his skill with anything mechanical. He keeps our vehicles running even with all the rough use we put them to. Mike and his family have become such close friends the ours that we feel that we are all one family. Mike will be riding his gelding "Mancha" this season.

7) Rose Berck--Rose, Michael Berck's wife, is the proud owner of "Twister". She has ridden him at Renaissance Faires and competed him in AIHR shows. Rose is best known for spoiling our horses rotten!

8) Michelle Berck--"Little Michelle" is a 1988 model filly out "Rose Berck" by "Michael Berck". She is known for her wonderful talent with a paint brush. She has also been noted for her temper, which she comes by honestly through her sire. Michelle is working with her gelding "Raul" this season.
