Carlene was Missing.....

The Hunt for Carlene Carter actually began late in the summer of 2000.  As one of her biggest fans, I wanted to build a tribute website to her.  There was not a lot of active information about her anywhere to be readily found.  Sure, several sites had a brief bio about her, but none listed current tour information, or anything about what she was up to.  I began e-mailing anyone who I thought might know something about her current activities.  Country DJ's across the U.S. replied with the all too often response, 'I haven't heard anything from her in years'.  Carlene had also stopped recording.  Her last album was released in 1996, about the same time anyone had heard anything of her.  After many e-mails, web searches, information collecting, and no luck, this tribute to Carlene Carter website became 'The Hunt for Carlene Carter' website.  It is still listed as such on the search engines like Yahoo!

With the creation of the Hunt for Carlene Carter, we launched search units all over the globe.  The search units covered land, sea, and air and included some of the best mystery solvers ever assembled.  The search went round the clock for many days.  Leads were kept active until they either were proven wrong, or a better lead came along.

The building of the Hunt for Carlene Carter actually killed two birds with one stone.  While building this tribute, I was also learning basic HTML language.  Whenever I would learn a new trick in Javascript or something like that, I would try to incorporate it into my tribute to Carlene.  Some of these features can be seen on the other pages of this site.  Interaction with other web surfers taught me other good practices in web development.  My thanks to all those who gave me such wonderful feedback.  I learned a great deal and we had a few laughs along the way!

As for the other website purpose, the search for Carlene continued. In researching Carlene's past, I had learned that she had once toured with two other great country ladies: Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan. I was fortunate enough to actually meet Pam Tillis.  The Gallery Page below features the results of this lead.  Look for the link on that page to the Cross Paths page!
