DRIVING DIRECTIONS
Follow Hwy 65 or 99 to Hwy 190, go east through Porterville.
Continue east past Lake Success.
Keep going east through Springville.
A short distance out of town you will see a huge barn on your left.
Turn left just in front of the barn.
You have two choices for driving up into the mountains; Bear Creek
Road or Balch Park Road. Both are part of the big Mountain Home
Forest loop and will get you to Methuselah Group Camp. Bear Creek
Road is several miles shorter, but has some sharp drop offs and is not
for those leery of heights. Balch Park Road takes quite a bit longer and
has many hairpin turns, but is a lovely scenic drive.
Bear Creek Road will be on the right about two miles past the huge barn.
If you turn right here you will be there in about 40 minutes. When you are
getting close you will see the State Forest Headquarters on your left,
continue about a 1/2 mile and you will see Methuselah Group Camp on
your right. If you come into Balch Park [the road passes by a lake] you
will have gone too far.
Balch Park Road route:
If you stay on the road that you turned onto by the huge barn, you will come
to Balch Park in about an hour. Go through Balch Park and continue for
about 1/2 mile until you see Methuselah Group Campsite sign on your
left.
