Joe Nichols

Joe Nichols is a hot new rising country star. Joe says, " I don't look country, but I am as traditional as they come!" Joe was born and raised in Rogers, Arkansas with his Mom, who's a bank teller, and his father, who drove a semi truck. Joe also has one brother and a sister. He remembers his first singing experience was at the age of 14 with a karaoke machine his uncle had. Everyone was surprised he could carry a tune! His favorite song of all is "Footlights" by Merle Haggard.
Joe is right in tradition, yet still fresh. The music he records has a simplicity to it, yet it's so simple it's difficult. "The Impossible", his debut single, is a ballad with gospel like feelings, shows how a man tells a woman not to give up on him.
Joe's luckiest moment was meeting Tim DuBois and Tony Brown of his record label, and his scariest was playing at the Grand Ole Opry! Joe's vision for the year is getting very little sleep and working very hard at music! You can catch Joe staying up till 5 a.m. eating skittles and then going to Waffle House for a treat!
Joe summorizes it all with saying: "The core of your songs and music, needs to be about what you know, what you feel. You can spice it up, flavor it, add this or take away that. You can add colors, make it modern-sounding, make it different, unique, or off-the-wall. You can, I believe, add things to classic country without making the core of it vanish. You can wear any kind of clothes that you want to wear, you can put on this or that. But that classic country base, that’s what I’m always going to come home to. Because that’s where it is for me."
