The Clarks will soon be shopping for a new record company.
F
ortunately, the Clarks contract with Curb Records has been terminated based on some legal action initiated by the Clarks in Virginia, their home state.
However, Curb Records is still seeking the right to prevent the Clarks from recording for other recording labels. On August 7, 2003, there will be a trial on this issue in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Assuming that the court decides in favor of the Clarks, the Clarks will then be finally free of Curb and will then negotiate a new record contract with another recording label. In this event, the Clarks anticipate that they will release a new album will all new
songs in early 2004.
The Clarks appreciate the support from their fans and look forward to seeing many of you this summer at one of the Clarks' concerts.

An article from the Tulsa World:

Meanwhile, Back on the Road

(by John Wooley- World Entertainment Writer)

Country music’s answer to the Jackson 5 rides the wave of fame.
The six photogenic brothers known as the Clark Family Experience all grew up on the road, the musical sons of traveling missionary parents from Virginia.
Proficient at entertaining before each reached his teens, the brothers began playing churches as a gospel group and soon began mixing in tours on the bluegrass-festival circuit.
That training came in handy when they signed a major-label recording contract last year and found themselves touring in support of a sizable country hit, “(Meanwhile) Back at the Ranch.”  But while they were used to traveling and playing in front of crowds, they weren’t quite accustomed to the kinds of things that happen to guys with a radio hit.
“The big difference is that when we do songs, people will start singing along with us, and that never happened before,” said guitarist-harmonica player Alan Clark, at age 27 the oldest of the Clarks.  He was joined by bassist Aaron (age 23) and dobro player Austin (17) for a recent telephone interview.
“I remember when it first happened,” he added.  “We were playing a show with Tim McGraw, and when we got to the chorus of ‘(Meanwhile) Back at the Ranch’ the whole first row started singing along.  They guys and I looked at each other and we thought, ‘What in the world is going on here?’”
Then there are the other kinds of experiences that go with stardom, especially when you’re in a band made up entirely of young guys.
“We were playing down in Georgia one night, and I guess the crowd was a little rowdy,” recalled Austin.  “I was doing a solo and walked out to the front of the stage and there were, you know, girls down there.  They started pulling on my leg, trying to pull me down off the stage and into the crowd.  I told ‘em, ‘Stop pulling my leg!’ and they stopped- but started pulling my arm.  Then they ripped my coat and took my cuff links … Finally security had to come in and take charge.”
  The moral of that story?
“I stand back by the drummer now,” he said with a laugh.
That’s the kind of thing you might be seeing one day on television if the Clark Family’s TV pilot gets picked up as a series.  They’ve been working on that pilot episode at the Warner Bros. Studios since March; at the time they were interviewed, the brothers were back in Los Angeles to shoot more scenes.
“It’s all about us, basically,” Austin said of the proposed show.  “It’s about music, brothers, a band, and traveling and all that stuff.  It’s basically our lives.  There’s a little but of comedy in there, but it’s not all comedy.  I mean, some of us are funny and some of us aren’t.”
In the brothers’ real life the traveling has been almost non-stop since “(Meanwhile) Back at the Ranch” hit.  In addition to several appearances with McGraw’s huge touring show (he also co-produced their upcoming album), the band has played a lot of fairs and festivals on its own, appearing on the same bill with a whole passel of similar up and coming country acts.

The latest release date for the now SELF-ENTITLED Clark CD is March 5, 2002.

>>SPI RATING: 6.75
"To Quote Shakespeare" sees a slight up-tick for The Clark Family Experience. "Kick-ass tune for a pretty clean-cut bunch of guys," says Brian Jennings at KZKX. "When will we see this album?" Swedberg adds, "I love this. These guys have it all now. They can perform, they look great and now there's a hooky, fun song to get them in front of people." (from @MusicRow weekly mailing- thanks Abbie)

The Clarks cancelled 2 tour dates in Boston, MA and Columbia, SC due to the US tragedy.  Here's the letter Alan sent out to the fans:

"I wanted to let everyone know that the guys and I are just fine, as we were home in Nashville when yesterday's tragedy happened. We have gotten many phone calls and emails questioning our safety considering how much we travel, and we appreciate your concerns.

We have also gotten many emails from some who have lost friends and family in this tragedy. I speak for my whole family when I say that we've been deep in prayer for the people affected by this attack, and for the people who work right now in the rescue effort.

At a time like this, we look to God for guidance, strength, and healing.

May God Bless America, and may He bless all of you."
