A WEE BIT OF HEAVEN

This beautiful site in South Texas belongs to a Texas cowboy and has been in his family since the 1800's. When he took possession, it was nothing more than a scar on the face of the earth marked by wide, deep gullies and crevices, huge boulders, and weeds - a wasteland. He worked in the sizzling heat of the hot Texas sun and in the bone-chilling cold of bleak winter days for twelve years, snatching whatever time he could from his regular duties to create this place of beauty and tranquility.

The cowboy, so close to the land he loves, does not take all the credit for what you see. For, after the land was cleared and grass was planted for pasture, the FIRST plants to appear were the magnificent bluebonnets that bloom along the creek bank in the springtime. He readily says that God blessed his labors and crowned his many years of work by planting the lovely blue flowers...for none had bloomed there in over 100 years.
