It was a time of great chaos.
The destructive humans were out for blood. Mutant beings across the planet were on the verge of extinction. Sentinels hunted down the genetically superior minority, who slaughtered mercilessly for doing nothing more than trying to survive. Governments across the globe were engaged in a war against a new species of man - Homo Superior - for what they believed would be the fate for mankind.
They were right.
In the earliest days of the Mutant-Human War, mankind drove mutants into hiding. Scattering like rats, the mutants were uncertain of where to turn or what to believe in. Were they genetic freaks and monsters or the next step in evolution?
With uncertainty running rampant through their ranks, mutants were losing the war. Mutants were clearly more powerful than their genetic cousins, but they had no rallying point. They had no leader. But the constant attacks on mutants across the globe left them ready for a fight. And men and women rose to the occasion. One mutant, the Homo Superior known as Magneto, was the first to drive back.
With his magnetic powers, Magneto was able to destroy a fleet of robotic Sentinels. The first mutant victory of the Mutant-Human War was caught on television and broadcast across the world. This one act of defiance horrified and reassured the human leaders of the planet that the mutant threat needed to be abolished for all time... and it led the thousands of mutants that then existed to have hope and to rally behind their new leader. Magnus led the revolution until its conclusion in Central Park with the destruction of the non-metallic Sentinels built specifically to counter his magnetic powers.
Since then, mutants have lived their dreams, finally able to come out of hiding. Their world is a Mutant Utopia. Able to use their abilities to their fullest, mutants are accomplishing things humans never dreamed possible; after years of oppression, they are able to live lives free of persecution and bigotry. The nightmare of the Mutant-Human War has given way to a time of great prosperity and hope. It is the beginning of the rule of Homo Superior on Earth and it has been a beautiful dawn.
There are those who see the world differently, however. As mutants multiplied and prospered, humans began to dwindle and became the minority. While "Sapiens" are tolerated in society, only a few of them are able to proper in a time when their simple genetic structure leaves them at a decided disadvantage. It appears the time of Homo Sapiens is about to end, while the time of Homo Superior is on the rise.
