Next up on our convention travels this year is FanExpo in Toronto, Ontario, Canada! This is our first time attending this convention, but I've heard great things about it. FanExpo is basically several conventions wrapped into one, spotlighting Comics, Anime, Horror, SciFi, and Gaming. FanExpo draws a large amount of Professional Creators and Pop Culture stars, and offers tons of interesting things to see & do. The convention will be held August 22nd thru 24th, click on the button above for a direct link to their convention hub to check out all the details! Those attending from Divine Authority Comics this year include Mark McCracken, Virginie Menard, & Tina Olah. We hope you'll stop by and check out our stuff!

After the disaster with Comixpress last year, we were more than prepared this year with our preferred printing companies, Ka-Blam! and SIPS. If you are an up & coming publisher, be sure to check them out, and if you'd like specific information on them feel free to email us about it. With months to spare, we already have our new books in-hand and ready to display at FanExpo. Check them out below, and if you're not attending the con, they are also currently available in our Online Store.

We are next planning to attend Ithacon in September, and we will post more details on that after FanExpo. We still have more upcoming new books to be released later this year. I can't give a guarantee, but we are attempting to complete and print Midnight Warriors#11 and Midnight Warriors Annual#1. One Wrathful Bastard#1 is still in progress by writer/artist Jim Sullivan. Divine Authority Presents is now well-underway and we hope to debut at least the first two issues of the series before summer's end. We have many artists currently working on projects for Divine Authority Presents, as you'll note in our Crew Bios section, and we are working hard in advance in an attempt to be able to release issues of the series more steadily than our other books. Look for more updates on this series soon!

Divine Authority Comics was recently featured in two Articles posted at High Speed Comics by Joe Churney. One is an interview with head writer Mark McCracken, and the other is an interview with writer/artist John Sowder on his upcoming arc for Divine Authority Presents titled "Penumbra". You can check them out here: www.HighSpeedComics.blogspot.com. (Thanks Guys!)

-Girl!#5 It was written by Mark McCracken, and drawn by Jody Hughes. The cover, at left, was drawn by Jody Hughes and colored by Virginie Menard. This is our first New issue since reprinting the original four in a TradePaperback, and this is Jody's first work for Divine Authority Comics. He appeared at Wizard World Philly to help promote the book, and his next project with us involves a certain feline female prominently featured on this cover.

-Girl!#5 is a stand-alone story revolving around a trip to a concert that goes horribly wrong when it is hi-jacked by a team of ego-tripping divas. It is a parody of the music industry and features some faux-celebrity guest cameos, as well as the introduction of our new heroine, CaTaStRoPhE! And while it isn't essential to the story as a whole, this issue also serves as a lead-in to -Girl!'s upcoming appearance in a Midnight Warriors crossover, "Time & Time Again".

-Girl!#6 is now available as well! It was written by Mark McCracken and drawn by the artists of Grafa Design. The cover was drawn by Grafa Design and colored by Virginie Menard. Going along with the self-contained concept, this one is another stand-alone story, easily enjoyed by new & long-time readers alike. This issue features -Girl! on one of her wackiest job-hunting exploits yet, and finds her going head-to-head with a psychologically imbalanced manager at a certain major retailer. While I can't say this is based on a true story, I can at least say it was inspired by my experience at a certain major retailer, and whether it be the obvious one I've used in the story or not will remain a mystery.

Midnight Warriors#10 is the most-recent issue of Midnight Warriors, also available now. It is written by Mark McCracken and drawn by Fran Ros. The cover was drawn by Fran Ros and colored by Virginie Menard. Special thanks to Fran for adding the blood-dripping daisy in the foreground, it sets the ominous tone for the story within.

An issue long-in-the-making, Midnight Warriors#10 brings to a close several plot points opened earlier in the series, but as with most mysteries I will warn you that answers always arrive accompanied by new questions. This action-packed book features appearances by most of the Midnight Warriors frequent guest cast (Sorry Farrah fans, she only appears in Karisma's flashback, but Fran did a pin-up of adult Farrah which I had Virginie color and we used it as the back cover of the book to tide you over!), and introduces a few new characters. The story, narrated by Heather, will bring a sense of closure to her ongoing trials, and open our first true glimpse at Karisma's past. After fighting several genre staples like Zombies and Vampires, the Midnight Warriors combat Werewolves for the first time. And you will get your first glimpse at a Midnight Warriors baddie who has been mentioned in several previous issues!

The Image to the Right of this paragraph is the new Color Cover for Midnight Warriors:Revisited#6 drawn by Jason Waltrip and colored by Tina Olah. This issue contains the original story presented in Midnight Warriors#6 penciled by Andy Sullivan and an all-new back-up story drawn by Stephen Holcomb, both of which were written by Mark McCracken. The original story features a partial origin story for Selena, a story originally intended to be told in A. M. Comics' Midnight Warriors#4 that never saw print. It also features cameo appearances by two of the as-yet-unseen ring wielders, Wind & Earth. The all-new back-up story features a tale of Selena & Warren that takes place between MW#4 & 5 and sheds more light on Warren's character. This book is available now in our Online Store and will be showcased at Wizard World Philadelphia. The 7th issue of this series will be released soon, and will be the final issue as we catch up to our newer material that began with MW#8 in our current professional print format.

Stephen Holcomb is also working on a series of short stories that will appear in Divine Authority Presents. "Spyne", a story long-in-the-making, will finally be brought to light after being re-tinkered through various failed start-ups in years' past. The story splices Teen Drama with Horror and a tinge of Vigilante, and the final product so far is wicked! If you loved Stephen's work on the MW back-up, Spyne really blows that away!

At the moment, I still have a lot of updates to perform on the website. If you run into a half-complete page or something awkward, it's only temporary. As I always say, we spend so much time working on the books themselves, it's difficult to find time to update the site, but at least we are being productive behind-the-scenes. I know one major tedious update is the need for "Home" buttons on the bottom of each page, as you can get stranded amid the other pages and needlessly push the "Back" button on your browser countless times. I apologize for the inconvenience and hope to start working on that soon, as well as adding newer artwork to the gallery.

Also Please Note that the Charitable Organizations whose Links appear on the navigation bar at Left are Not Angelfire Ads. These are Links to organizations we have chosen to support and have donated to ourselves. We encourage you to at least check them out. Youth-AIDs encourages AIDs awareness, as it is a serious issue that can't be ignored, silence equals death. The Christopher Reeve Foundation was established to benefit research for the cure of many forms of paralysis, founded by the late Superman actor. Both of these organizations offer a free set of dog tags to anyone who makes just a small donation. And below is a direct link to a distributor of Superman/Batman#26 who donates 100% of their profit to the Sam Loeb College Fund. If you don't know the story behind this issue, a tribute to Jeph Loeb's son, who died of cancer, please read this Article from Newsarama.com. It features the artwork of many top creators and a plot partially conceived by Sam before his death.
