Background: Rosa was born prematurely to Antonio and Donna DelJuzzo in Chicago. Shortly after birth, she was diagnosed with pernicious anemia, a congential condition which requires her to take iron suppliments in addition to following a special diet. She had a rather boring childhood and came home with good grades from St. Philip Benizi's Grade School and had started at Mother Guerin's High School when her mutation manifested on her 13th birthday. She was fighting with her mother when her wings sprouted from her back and her face took on a more batlike mein. Her parents were horrified and had thrown her out, not caring what happened to her. Scared at what happened, she went to the only other person she hoped wouldn't be horrified by her, the parish priest-Father Damien. Father Damien was a Jesuit priest who had been assigned by the Vatican to lead a taskforce to interpret what ramifications mutants had in accordance with the Church's teachings. He was suprised to learn Rosa was a mutant, but he couldn't turn one of God's children away. While he couldn't move her into the rectory with him, he made arrangements for her to stay with his aged mother who did need someone around the house as she was having trouble getting around in her years. Rosa loved living with Mama Karras, even though she did get hollered at several times to be careful with her wings around the old woman's knicknacks. Father Damien had Rosa homeschooled so she could graduate high school. As things became more anti mutant in the neighborhood, Father Damien contacted the mutant underground and with a heavy heart sent Rosa off to where she would be safer. Eventually she made her way to the Xavier mansion and the rest was history.

Personality: A bit shy, but once she warms up, she's very friendly.

Likes/Dislikes: Loves chocolate in any form and really doesn't let any dislikes be known. she tries to see the good in all.

General Apperance: slender but shapely. can look essentially human if she draws her wings fully into her back, but they begin to suffer from being held in long.

Known mutant powers: Werebat shapeshifting-she can alternate the degree of shifting into a man/bat form or just sprout batwings from her back. She cannot assume a true bat's form. Has heightened senses of hearing and sight as well as physical adaptations for flight such as an extra membrane in her lungs to breathe at high altitudes. Rosa also has retractible fangs and claws. Whether she has the sonic abilities of bats remains to be seen.
