BAT NEWS

The world of Batman is constantly changing. So much so that it is sometimes hard for comic fans to keep up. Most recently, Frank Miller's the Dark Knight Strikes Again (the sequel to his masterpiece Batman: the Dark Knight Returns) hit hard with fans and critics alike. Miller's gritty portrayal and amazing Patton-like attitude mixed to the equal parts of Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, Zorro, and the Scarlet Pimpernel make the Batman of his books unlike any other, always re-establishing the bar he always sets so damn high. The Dark Knight Strikes Again can be found in a three volume set (probably soon to be followed up by a one piece collection). Meanwhile, the Bruce Wayne: Murderer/Fugitive saga has concluded with the testimony of assassin Cain, admitting that he was the true hired murderer of Vesper Fairchild. Batman knows without any real proof that Lex Luthor was behind the crime, but as typical for the bald baddy, capture remains elusive since the business man always makes sure he stays clean. Next up: Jim Lee's stint as artist for the Batman title. Lee's work will follow without deviating a twelve issue storyline titled: Hush. Sounds like a Batman version of 24. Whaddya think?
