What would the game be like?
They game would be a platform fighter like Power Stone, in which characters can run around freely and use or break objects in their surronding enviorment. The story/game would be about the ultimate Street Fighter Tournament where the battlefield is a gigantic city, one that would be evacuated for the tournament (some place like Metro City, the place where the Final Fight games took place) The prize? 1 Billion dollars. Each fighter enters the tournament for the money, the fight, or both. When playing through the game it would start in the early morning and by the time you get to the final boss it would be nighttime to set the mood. Your character will also have their own individual sub boss and final boss, similar to what was in Street Fighter Alpha 1 and 2 where characters would fight their own boss and sub boss at the end of the game. After you beat the game you’ll see your characters ending (which will make sense for once)and during the credit roll you’ll see highlights from your fights being played.
What characters will be featured in the game?
When designing this game one of the toughest challenges for me was choosing what characters where to be in it. I knew I wanted to combine the casts of diffrient Street Fighter games, but I had a hard time trying to remember every character that appeared in a Street Fighter game. I ended up looking on a web site called Street Fighter Legends, which had info on every character that appeared in a Street Fighter game. After I had written down all the characters I realized that I had to many. I knew I had to trim the list down. When trying to figure out who to cut and who to keep two things crossed my mind, one would the character make sense to be in the story? and two does anyone even like or play as this character? The characters are really those characters who care about fighters pride, growing stronger, or looking for the ultimate fight. Here is the current list of characters.
Note I may add/subtract characters due to demand. There are 14 initial characters in the game, and by completing the game with a certain/specific character they unlock another character, until there are eventually 28 characters, and there is a reason (story wise) why one character unlocks the other character.
Default --- Secret
Mel ------- Ken
Amy ------- Guile
Datta ----- Dhalsim
Mayoke ---- Chun Li
Tenma ----- Cammy
Sakura ---- Karin
Dan ------- Fei Long
Guy ------- Cody
Ibuki ----- Vega
Yun ------- Yang
Elena ----- Sagat
Sean ------ Blanka
Alex ------ Urien
Ryu ------- Shin Ryu
There's actually two more characters that are earned through completing various objectives in the game.
Beserker Ryu - A version of Ryu that shows the true/ultimate power/potential of the Satsu No Hadou.
Tenshi - Sakura's son
Who the hell are Mel, Amy,Datta, Mayoke and Tenma?
They are who I like to refer to as "The Kids" Mel is Ken's son, Amy is Guile's daughter, Datta is Dhalsim's son, and Mayoke and Tenma are Chun Li's adoptive daughter and son.
Are there any new characters?
Actually no, with the exception of Tenma, all the characters listed above were created by Capcom, but I made up the name's Mayoke and Tenshi since Capcom never gave those two characters actual names.
Will characters actually end up having more than one costume this time around?
Yes, each character will have 3 costumes, 2 default, and 1 secret one thats earned by beating the game with that particular character.
For an example here are Mel's three costumes
Costume 1
Costume 2
Costume 3 (Secret)
Each individual costume will also have alternate color palattes.
How do the characters perform special attacks if all of Capcom’s previous fighting games (with the exception of a few) have used directional input to perform a special attack?
Well in the case of this game a specific button would be designated as the “special” button. For instance for Ryu punch + special = Hadouken. The same would go for supers except multiple buttons would be pushed i.e. punch 1 + punch 2 + special = Shinku Hadouken.
How the hell am I going to hit someone with a special or super if they can just run away?
This would have a similar effect to that of Power Stone where all special attacks and supers used an auto target system, but they weren't impossible to dodge.
How many levels are there?
Only one. What!? Only one level? Yes but here me out. The level is a giant city with different sub divisions such as downtown, park, junk yard, school, suburbs, ghettos, etc. There would also be a training level, which would be the Shotokan Karate Shrine where Ryu and Ken trained. Here you would be able to hone your skills and practice your moves (remember practice makes perfect) also you just might bump into the shrines caretaker who appeared in Alpha anime, who served no purpose but was funny.
What all in the enviorments are interactive?
Just about everything. The enviorments are more destructable than interactive, for instance if Ryu hit the bottom of a building with his Shinku Hadouken it could crumble to the ground. The same goes with most objects in the enviorment such as benches, trees, even cars.
Is there a multiplayer feature?
Hell yeah! Personally I'd love to see a massive city side free for all. The multiplayer mode would probably have at least 10 characters per game featuring various modes such as last man standing, team battle, capture the flag, etc
Is there any sorrta create a character mode? Or edit mode?
This always makes any the game more enjoyable so... HELL YEAH! This is always a favorite asspect of any game. The more customization a game allows, the better its enjoyment. It would have a create a character mode in which almost every feature of your characters appearance would be customizable face, hair, shirt, pants, shoes, gloves, accessories, etc. You would also be able to edit the pre existing characters in the game. You can also pick what moves you want for your character, but each move costs a certain amount of points and the better the move the more points it costs to get. You get points by playing any of modes featured in the game.
What other modes would be in the game besides Story, Versus, Training, Online, and Edit?
Firstly there’d be an adventure mode. Something similar to what was in Tekken 3 and Tobal No.1, this would be a game within itself, a 3D Final Fight if you will. The adventure mode would be connected to the edit mode. First you'd create your character assign them whatever moves you desired and then you’d start the adventure mode from the training level (the shotokan shrine) where you could practice your moves a bit to make them stronger and then you would take a boat ride over to the city where the adventure mode would truly begin. You’ll go through the city fighting enemies from classic Cacpom games such as Final Fight, Captain Commando, Strider, Mega Man and some zombies from Resident Evil. There will be sub bosses at certain points and then you’ll fight the final boss if you survive that far. The more you use your moves the better they become. So by the time you get through it you should be pretty decent. You can also play it again and again and increase the difficulty for a challenge and more points. Another mode that would be included in the game would be a gallery. The gallery would consist of two sections Illustrations and Ending Collection. Pretty self-explanatory once you’ve beaten the game with a character you will get their ending and a piece of artwork to go in the gallery section. The only other mode that would probably fit would be Mini Games, consisting of the various games and bonus modes found in Rival Schools, and Street Fighter 2. I think that's enough.
What would the inclusion of the internet bring to the game?
Well besides the multiplayer games, people could upload their custom characters to a hosted online database, in which players can download another persons character or characters. It wouldn't be to long after that a game editor would come out that would allow players to take the customization to an extreme level.
What other possible potential does would this game have?
Once the initial version of Street Fighter Neo would be completed, the games engine could be used to recreate (or make the next chapters in)other Capcom fighting games, such as Dalkstalkers,Plasma Sword,Rival Schools, etc. The games would be like expansion packs of sort, which would keep adding on SF Neo, with the end result being "Capcom's Crossover Mania"
What expansion packs would be released?
Well first off let me state that each expansion pack adds characters, extra outfits and levels, but some add their own specific scenario to the adventure mode. Also, each expansion is a game within itself as well as adding everything thats included into to what SF:Neo has already.
Expansion Packs:
Ultimate Street Fighter - Adds tons of crap from SF,SFA,SF2, and SF3.
Rival Schools - Adds everything that all the previous version of Rival Schools included, but there is second part to the game that ties into Street Fighter Neo, in which alot of the RS characters are all older, and "The Kids" all attend various High Schools from the previous Rival Schools games, which is how the second part of this expansion ties into SF:Neo
Darkstalkers - Basicly centers around the a portal that opens the doorway between the realms of Darkstalkers and SF:Neo
Final Fight - The best part about this is that it adds a "Final Fight" scenario to the adventure mode, and you can choose classic mode which is basicly a remake of the first Final Fight, or Neo mode, which is a new adventure that focuses on the three characters in the year 2015
Capcom All Stars - Includes characters and stuff from Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Captian Commando, Strider, Mega Man, Breath of Fire, plus more.
