Summary:

The Hobbit is about a rather plump hobbit that is forced to go on an adventure with dwarves by a wizard named Gandalf. Bilbo does not want to go but he is forced to go. He encounters many dangers. Goblins chasing after him in a pitch dark tunnel, wolves waiting under a tree so they can feast, fighting spiders to rescue his friends and he encounters many other dangers. Bilbo is part Tookish and part Baggins. His Baggins side is his lazy side and his Tookish side is his adventurous side. In this novel, the readers will see the change of Bilbo. Although Bilbo encounters many dangers he has an advantage, a ring that if he slips on to his finger, it will make himself invisible. He takes advantage of the ring and acts and does things that are very brave and that you wouldn't expect him to do. The whole point of the journey is to recover Thror and Thrain's treasure back. Thorin the son of Thrain and the grandson of Thror wants to recover his grandfather and his father's treasure. The dwarves go into the tunnel and into Smaug's Lair while Smaug went to Lake Town to show who is real king. Smaug gets shot with an arrow on his weak spot. Everyone finds out about the death of Smaug and they figure that no one is guarding the treasure ( they think the dwarves are dead) so everyone rushes to get the treasure. Elves came to claim the treasure, the wolves came, the goblins came, the men came, and the dwarves came. The dwarves the men and the elves win the war with the eagles' help. They were on each other's side and they won the war. They claimed the treasure. Bard gets one fourteenth of the treasure and Thorin, Kili, and Fili die. Thorin was buried with the Arkenstone on his chest. Bilbo taking very little of the share goes back home and all ends well.
