Episode 36 - "Henry Thripshaw's Disease"

Original Broadcast Date: Dec. 21, 1972

Attempted Synopsis: A Tudor employment agency doubles as a porn shop, until a policeman turns into Sir Philip Sidney; a vicar is unusually disturbing (disturbed?) to a polite couple; interpretation of a strangely worded telegram; a talk show about afterlife includes three dead panelists; using the wrong words in a conversation; a priest seems unusually concerned with his sherry supply.

Review: The opening sketch about Tudor employment (?) begins with one joke too many, but the juxtaposition of modern-day porn with 16th-century etiquette is pretty funny. Much of the rest of the episode is hit-and-miss.

Priceless Gag: Dr. Thripshaw (John Cleese) succeeding in his goal of getting a disease named after him, followed by the movie version of same.
