The weather here will keep us talking in the village until I'm 90 probably [Cool] and since my 'weather' vocab is good [thumb] it can only work out to my advantage in the long run [Big Grin]

P.S note to Skyfluer - NP Sky - any time you want to post here just for the 'laddies', just make sure you add a warning for us gals, and we won't bother answering you [devil]

I know the one you mean Mr. Sribbles ! It really IS WOW ! I spray-painted a much loved cot for my tiny grand son and I was so impressed by it ; I went out and bought a bookshelf, a chest of drawers , painted them all.

Then I got so carried away with the thing my kids started to hide their furniture, and other things ( a bamboo chair, some baskets) - I can't remember what else there was I found - to stop me from spray painting more stuff in the most beautiful shade of cream. Hello again,
A Sibling with a minor illness (involves sitting on WC and leaning over to the sink at the same time, but I won’t go into details here) meant that I was AWOL yesterday and I have already mentioned what happened this morning [Roll Eyes]

So I get a late evening post on Friday, to be thanked with a fne: from Traveller, so you lot take advantages of me by posting just 7 more pages in less than 3 days, methinks that a certain pup would be pleased with that…FNE: (my turn) and I missed page one pah! [ninja]

It was really sunny yesterday but no chance of being out in it, what with all the action in the bathroom. [Roll Eyes]

Shame on you Scribe for using Creosote, it’s not you they are protecting it’s the environment from the types who pour the left-overs down the sink or into the ground, there are loads of alternatives that are water based and do not harm grass, insects, birds (parrots) [devil] and other wildlife. They don’t have that great smell like creosote does though. Mind you concrete sleepers don’t look right in your garden, especially the ones that are 15 metres long! [Eek!]

I’ll say it again…just to reiterate it….the sun is out…YAY! [devil]

…and I recall being taught that Harold said “Oi, be careful with that thing, you’ll have someone’s eye ou……” [Wink] [Cool]

Morning all [Big Grin]

KM had it all wrong with his nick [Eek!] [devil]

buttttttt

you can trust a T to post the correct explanation [Razz]

It was Kitchkovich, and yes it was posted by evy, as sort of a russian name (rather then Irish, but we'll get to this later today [devil] ), and why russian you ask yourself? we (or maybe I [Wink] ) posted about the supermarket Russian staff whilst Kitchie was mentioning working on some store [huh]

And while you were mentioning the turn of the shifts, don't we miss someone (and not thing) who changed from night shift to day shift and disappeared from both? Where is Peter? [Confused]

Morning all!

Late arrival at work this morning, had to go to my employer to take the tax papers (I absolutely ignore what's the name of it in English or if it exists at all outisde Italy, it's the form in which your employer sums up your incomes for you).

Going for a coffee, anyone wants to share?

The good thing with that W2/P60/CUD is that if you only have one income in the year, you don't have to fill in any form: it's all already done there.

Good job someone could remeber it was a P60. I thought the form was a P45, but getting one of them off your manager when you are expecting the other would be a shock [Wink]

Although who could ever forget the wonderful P11D? [devil]

Doff - What Ted said. It cropped up in the Not word game and I was seeing if Christine would have a go, since it was prominently featured in the DT's. [Razz]

I don't have trouble sleeping - I just have trouble remembering to go to bed and end up falling asleep in front of the TV [Embarrassed] It's a bad habit I'm trying to break. I'll have another go tonight. Night all.

Evidently the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) think we Americans have too much time on our hands. Even with one source of income you're required to fill out several forms written in some unknown language with the instruction booklet written in another unknown language known only to them. Of course they will figure your taxes for you, but isn't that akin to giving the combination to the safe to the Yegg?? (Yegg = safecracker) [huh]

I know many of you are not that much interested in this kind of topic, buTTT...

It's stats time! (sorry [huh] )

The Teddies have sped up their crunching by 50% in the last month, and are now soon getting in the top 1000 teams as for points (we're #1099 now). We're already on top 1000 (#786) for CPU time, and a bit far from there (#1633) as for results.

Note: when we will hit the #1000 for points, our stats will appear on http://www.statsman.org/ ; beware you shy ones!

Keep up the good work, we're doing really great! [thumb]

Wow, it took a while to find your new teddie thread but here it is: Puppy update.

We had a short call from Egypt on Wednesday. The food is seemingly great over there. They have a good cook with them. Evy said they had had a few windy and dusty days but that the weather is getting a little better. It gets very cold at night. She has received some of our mail which is good because now we know it won't be a one way communication and we can sort of keep her posted of what happens here. She just had a larger portion of the site to dig up and she'll probably get more workmen to order around.

G'day all,

I must be doing something very wrong - I never get any spam. Yahoo comes with it's own spam filters but there is never any to filter out [huh]

No, this doesn't mean I want you lot to sign me up for any! [ninja]

GP, give yourself a vacation. I put loads of things into storage. It meant I didn't have to get rid of things I wasn't sure whether I wanted to keep or not and could keep more. I figured I could sort them out later. I still have that to do byt will do it when I'm ready. That's my top tip to help you cope.

Not that I ever bothered actually doing any cleaning - well only a bit [devil]

Hi Traveller. [Smile]

You're doing something really right or you're very lucky.

I try to protect my regular email, but I've had it so long that unfortunately it's made a few spam lists. And I don't want to change it at this point.
My Yahoo account(which I use for the odd registration and online purchases)has also become riddled with crap, although Yahoo does a fairly good job of categorizing the garbage.
Perhaps this is a good candidate for the Pet Peeves thread. [Roll Eyes]

Hi All -

awww Owlie I'm so sory about your snow, [Cool] [devil]

guns - I looked at the Mailwasher, and the freebie does not send spam back!!!!! only the paid version, and at $29 it seems a bit pricey to me. I get so used to the spam, but have the full version of Incredimail and that allows me to delete direct off my server without downloading, so maybe I'll settle for simply that

Hello Ghost P., are you taking Travellers tip re. sorting out things ? I rather thought that his suggestion was a very, very good one , it will give you time to work through it, and as Traveller said, you will then know what you wish to keep, etc. .
I remember when my mother died, my step-dad together with his son &daughter-in-law had already sorted things through and brought the rest to my place, and it took me ages to work through it. I was so torn to bits...
...it was too soon and too much. It is such a painful task. I would suggest you follow Travellers' advise and "be kind to yourself, take a vacation", you will be able to think much clearer after some time. [Smile] [thumb]

Peter Hi, well I got the full version and they sent me an "unlock code" number and simply cannot find any place where to enter it and unless I find out where to put it, it will not work. I am getting really frustrated, 'coz I want to use the tiny people to help me express(whatever they are meant to express) and I think it might be easier to draw the pictures myself (if the 'puter would let me), than to enter that number wherever it's meant to go. [Big Grin] [headbang]

Owlie, I did that too, it did'nt work. It invites me to register and when I do, it tells me that I already have an account. At one stage I thought that perhaps it is zipped so I put it into the WinZip, WinZip warnes me that if I keep doing that it will get deleted .
I know I am doing something wrong, but cannot figure out what. Owlie I am afraid I am not very clever with this mashine. [ninja] [headbang] [headbang]

Greetings HETTATLONGUN and [Gunner] and Nite Owl, and Janet, [Smile] You Guys are just so very Special ! I could not be more sincere!

How can I EVER Thank You People enough ? Many, many Thanks, A Million Thanks to You , Each and Everyone !

From Every corner of the board you jump in with help,Thank you !

You will see my success when I begin to post with those funny (& happy ,funny and glad) little magic people; just two dots and a mouth in side a circle, yet those smilies are ever new and each time I use them they add so much of what I feel at every given moment. [thumb]

Well, at least that is how I feel about them. I "read" them as I read the words that people write ,and very often, just a smilie is enough to give a message., even say the word that I cannot find at a given moment [Eek!]

I am glad you cannot see me now my ears are burning (must be the 'hot flushes' [Razz]
And now I feel all embarrassed [Embarrassed]

Morning all, lots of wind and rain (which will do the garden the world of good) and lots of sunshine for Sigal and Ja.net which should keep them happy for a while. Had an enjoyable visit to No 2 son yesterday as predicted, but ate too much food etc so "Wind and Rain applies to me too!" [Roll Eyes]
Twas nice to see Derek and the parrot awoke from hibernation safe and sound, now all we have to do is find old Quarky, and all is restored to normal!

More Queen!

"Steve walks warily down the street
With his brim pulled way down low
Ain't no sound but the sound of his feet
Machine guns ready to go

Are you ready hey are you ready for this?
Are you hanging on the edge of your seat?
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat yeah

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

How do you think I'm going to get along
Without you when you're gone
You took me for everything that I had
And kicked me out on my own

Are you happy are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
To the sound of the beat look out

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust

Hey
Oh take it - Bite the dust bite the dust
Hey Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust ow
Another one bites the dust he he
Another one bites the dust haaaa
Ooh shoot out

There are plenty of ways that you can hurt a man
And bring him to the ground
You can beat him
You can cheat him
You can treat him bad and leave him
When he's down
But I'm ready yes I'm ready for you
I'm standing on my own two feet
Out of the doorway the bullets rip
Repeating to the sound of the beat

Another one bites the dust
Another one bites the dust
And another one gone and another one gone
Another one bites the dust yeah
Hey I'm gonna get you too
Another one bites the dust
Shoot out"

Didn't know you like Queen, Derek!

I used to know tens of song by Queen by heart, now I am a bit low on exercise, but AOBTD is one of my favourites. I prefer the first period, pre-1979, and even more the first 2 albums, they're materpieces. What do you think?

Live at Wembley 86, it was the first CD I ever bought (1991, right?)! It was a double CD, good live, but nothing compared to Live Killers!

Thanks Bilfritz, that worked. But it is strange, 'coz you are supposed to just 'drag and drop' these ones. It always worked before, only the last few went wrong, though I have this feeling... but no... probably EmotiPad 's tiny people are a little moody and I am not very clever with the computer.

You see, I am still learning .

Christine, the code you are using is HTML and not UBB. It won't work on these forums, but will on e-mails, for instance. I don't have Emotipad, maybe there's a switch somewhere that says HTML-UBB?

Afternoon all [Razz] In sunny North Wales this afternoon - nice views of rolling hills leading down to the coast from the office window [Wink] Just a shame that BT haven't sorted out broadband down here - I'm missing my funky moped connection - and MSN keeps crashing out on me - must be something in the air! @the clocks: it's all right Christine, you go one or forward on summer, and one back in winter; now it's summer (almost) for us stright ones, and winter (almost) for you upside-down!

Good mnemonics! English language seems to have lots of useful ones...

In Italian, the only useful ones I can recall are the disposition of the Alps from West to East and the kind of verbs you can do the absolute ablative with in Latin.
