When a young man on a doomed vacation cruise is forced to abandon ship, he washes ashore a small island. There, he meets a lovely young woman who pleads with him to open a box in her possession, as it contains all she holds dear. Complying, the man is soon horrified to find that the woman is the legendary Pandora, and he has unleashed a terrible monster upon the world.

The creature does Pandora's bidding, and easily begins conquering the Earth. As a last ditch effort, the young man surrounds Pandora with mirrors. In the mirrors, Pandora sees her true reflection, that of a haggard old crone, and eager to rid herself of this vision, agrees to command the monster back into the box, seemingly forever.
