Tech Force Assemble
Part Two
by: John

The city of Lunar Hills had always seemed like a normal town. It suffered the average rate of crime and other plagues of society and still came out safe in the end. Today, however, was a different story. Not even Lunar Hills's finest could stand up to the menace running a muck in the city. The wasp creature seemed to be invulnerable to shotguns and pistols. The good guys were getting beaten up, until Andros showed up. Atop his glider he fired a few shots with his own laser pistol which managed to catch the monster off guard and drive him back.

The monster growled in frustration, then said, "I've been expecting you, but where are the others? Zyron expected five."

"They'll be here!" Andros yelled, "Until then, try me on!"

"Gladly!" the monster yelled while charging. Andros drew his spiral saber and blocked the monster's staff on his right. The monster wielded his weapon like a trained ranger, throwing hits from all sides. Andros was only barely able to dodge and block with his sword, not managing to counter attack. "You keep up a good guard," said the monster, "Let's see how long you'll last." The monster continued, this time though Andros got a break. As the monster was pivoting around to his right, Andros blocked the blow and nailed him with a power kick. The monster fell backward, rolling over onto his stomach.

Andros watched as it slowly got to its feet. He asked, "Just who are you anyway? And why do you want to destroy Lunar Hills?"

"I, like Zyron, was imprisoned into the vortex like many others by power rangers. It was there that Zyron became our leader and promised us revenge on them if we would follow him. I was just another nameless monster, until Zyron deemed me Waspitron," said the monster.

"Well, Waspitron, your spree of terror ends here!" Andros yelled.

"We'll see!" Waspitron yelled back continuing the fight.

While at the Command Chamber, Zidron was working tirelessly at the controls. "Need to find suitable hosts fast. Andros can't do this alone," he was saying to himself. "If only I had some help, this would go alot quicker. No suitable hosts found in the city area. Lets try near the outer edge."

Near the edge of the city stood the Lunar Hills college campus, where the news of the attack had not spread to. Students still moved in and out of classes unaware, until the giant screen in the hallway flashed the news of the report. "This is channel nine reporting," the reporter was saying, "And this is Hayden Miles reporting near ground zero where apparently a monster is on the rampage, and a lone power ranger seems to be our only defense." The cameraman got a shot of the battle as spiral saber met ends of Waspitron's staff in defense. "There's no telling how long the red space ranger can hold out," Hayden said, "Let's just hope a miracle happens. Stay tuned."

The report had gotten the attention of many students in the hallway, including five special individuals, including David Benton, and Kyle Shrill. Both friends attending to earn bachelor's in medicine and computer technology, but they weren't your ordinary students. They both had a wild side for danger, and saving the day. They were walking into their sociology class when they heard the news. "This is not good," said Dave getting worried.

"I know bro," said Kyle. "Let's not do anything stupid, though."

"You mean like running into town and helping that ranger out?" Dave asked with a smile.

"Well, since you feel so strongly about it," Kyle added smiling.

The two were headed out of the building to their cars to leave for the city, when they heard a voice say, "No way, you two aren't going in there." It was Dave's younger sister Sara, who was attending for a child care degree.

Dave turned to his sister, and said in a frustrated tone, "Look, they need help. Kyle and I are just as good as those officers in there getting their butts whipped, if not better."

"I know you've got a spot for justice, but you're not going by yourselves. I'm coming with you," said Sara.

"Hold on," said Kyle who had turned his back. "You can't go out there, you wouldn't stand a chance. You'd be hurt."

"I know you care about me Kyle, but I won't fight OK. What if there are little kids out there who are hurt and need someone? I can help you there," said Sara. Kyle became quiet at her first words, it wasn't exactly top secret that Kyle always liked Sara. He and Dave had been friends for years now, and Dave himself encouraged them to date. It was just Kyle thought he wasn't good enough for her, so he kept at a distance.

"OK," said Dave. "You can come, but be careful. I don't want you anywhere near that thing."

"OK," said Sara.

The three of them were about to leave, when the news came back on. "This is Hayden Miles again, it appears the red ranger is now losing indefinitely," said the worried reporter, "The battle is moving out of town in a northwest direction. It looks like if something doesn't happen soon, the city and all its people are doomed. Stay tuned."

"Oh no!" said Dave. "They're headed in this direction."

"Looks like the school will be the last line of defense, from then on the monster could work his way into Angel Grove," said Kyle. While the three spoke of the impending doom, on another floor the other two special individuals, who were Samuel Biggs and Laura Berdon, were sitting together on the hallway bench. Sam and Laura were a young couple who had first met on campus. Sam was attending for a degree in science and Laura in criminal justice. Laura was worried now about the monster. Sam had his arm around her trying to console her.

"It's going to be OK, I promise," Sam was saying. "I won't let that creep hurt you."

"This could be our last moments together," said Laura looking up into his eyes. "I want you to know now that I love you. Since I first met you, you've been in my heart."

"I love you, too, but keep positive," said Sam encouragingly. "We've got to stay positive, if we're going to stay alive." The two continued to sit, while outside the battle drew closer.

Andros had just gotten slashed by Waspitron, who was quick on capitalizing. Waspitron waved his staff, then out shot a negative energy blast which struck Andros full force. The red ranger still managed to get to his feet. ‘I still have one more trump card to play,' Andros was thinking, ‘And I think now is a good time to play it.' Andros switched button three on his morpher, and a sudden transformation took place. In a show of red light, Andros had become suited in his battle armor. Waspitron watched with interest, but didn't seem impressed.

"Nice armor ranger!" Waspitron called. "You're only delaying the inevitable though! I was taught by the best red ranger ever!"

‘He's right,' Andros thought. ‘This might give me a chance, but it's like I'm fighting another red ranger. Got to stick with it, at least until the new team appears. Which I hope is soon.' The battle continued, with Waspitron on the offensive.

At the Command Chamber, Zidron was still working. He was still checking the city for the proper people to wield his ranger weaponry. He was just about to start searching the south end of the city, when an indicator buzzed pointing in a northwestern direction. He followed the signals, and was pleased to find five individuals who were best suited. "Strange," he said to himself, "I was beginning to lose hope that there were none, but here they are all together in the same area. I'd better get them here fast." Zidron flicked a few switches on the control panel, and then stood back.

While back on campus, something happened. Dave, Kyle, Sara, Sam, and Laura were all enveloped in light and transported out of the college. Like rockets, they streamed overhead going east, heading out of the city, then soon out of the town. All five landed in a bunch in the middle of a strange room. Dave was the first to his feet, and he noticed an old man in fine robes standing next to a control counsel.

"Welcome," said the old man. "I am the wizard Zidron, prodigy of the late Zordon, and defender of earth."

"Did you say Zordon?" Dave asked. Zidron nodded, while the others got to their feet.

"Where are we?" asked Sam. "And who are you guys?"

"This is the Command Chamber, it resides only miles out of your town," said Zidron. "And I have brought you here for a mission of great importance."

"What mission?" asked Sara. "As you may or may not know, the city is under attack by a monster," said Zidron.

"Yeah, we know. We saw the report at school," said Dave. "My friend, my sister, and I were going to go help the red ranger. That's when you brought us here."

"You can help, but not like that," said Zidron getting the gems. "With these you can. With these gems and the morphers I'll give you. Combined with the power of this grid, you five will become power rangers."

"Rangers? You're going to make us rangers? Why?" asked Laura.

"These morphers and gems need a specific genetic code and cell structure to be activated," said Zidron. "I scanned the city and found you five."

"OK, I'm in," said Dave. "The red ranger needs help."

"I'm in, too," said Kyle. "You're not going to have fun without me."

"Guys you can't," Sara whined.

"Why not? You should, too, this would be a good chance to help us," said Dave.

"I can't it's too dangerous," said Sara.

"We'll help to," said Sam. Sam and Laura stepped forward, and stood with Kyle and Dave.

"OK then, stay here and be safe. It's where you belong," said Kyle.

This got a spark from Sara. She changed her mind and said, "Wait, I'm coming, too."

"Excellent," said Zidron. "You five will make an incredible team."

"So what do we do?" asked Dave.

"Take these," said Zidron handing out the gems. "Laura, you will be the white ranger, an always constant reminder of compassion to the team. Sara, you will be the pink ranger, an honest hard working fighter. Samuel, you will be the green ranger, someone the rest can count on to remain positive. Kyle, you will be the blue ranger, brave and bold and second to the leader. And David, you will be the red ranger, older, wiser, and the strongest of the rest. You must lead your team with the thought that their safety comes first before yours."

"I will," said Dave taking the red gem. "What now?"

Zidron got out the techno morphers, and handed one to each of them. "You must place the gem in the center slot of this device," said Zidron. "Raise it into the air and call out, ‘Tech-Force Ranger,' then what ever your color is. Then yell, ‘Powerup!' Now I'm sending you to the city, go, and may the power protect you."

"Let's do it!" yelled Dave as he and the rest were teleported out.

In the city, Andros was back on the receiving end. His armor had failed him when he was struck with another blast. Now he was on the run. "Where are you going? I thought you wanted to play!" Waspitron called chasing Andros down the street. Waspitron fired another energy blast, which found its mark. Andros was thrown of his feet, and he became de-morphed. He now lay there on the street in his space uniform, with Waspitron closing in. Waspitron lifted him off the ground by his throat. Andros struggled while in the monster's grip. "Take your last breath ranger, and when you see Zordon again make sure you tell him who sent you to him," Waspitron laughed as he squeezed harder. Andros was just blacking out when someone out of nowhere dealt Waspitron a power kick which released Andros in time. Andros was on his stomach as he looked up and saw a tall guy in red in a fighting pose. He then walked and joined four others. Waspitron had fallen over, but he got up quickly and noticed the five there. "You shouldn't have done that kid! Now it's your turn!" said Waspitron charging.

"Wrong!" Dave called back. "You're finished!" Dave had put his gem inside the morpher, raised it into the air and yelled, "Tech-Force Ranger Red, Powerup!"

Kyle did the same with his morpher, raised it into the air and yelled, "Tech-Force Ranger Blue, Powerup!"

Sara did the same with her morpher, raised it into the air and yelled, "Tech-Force Ranger Pink, Powerup!"

Laura followed Sara. She yelled, "Tech-Force Ranger White, Powerup!"

Sam followed Laura yelling, "Tech-Force Ranger Green, Powerup!"

Waspitron stopped and watched as a brilliant show of lights encased the five. And when they became clear they were in their new ranger uniforms, wearing helmets. Red ranger David held his right arm in the air, and said, "Ready!"

The five assumed fighting poses and yelled in unison, "Power Rangers! Tech-Force!" Waspitron charged again, as did the rangers. Dave did a jump kick which Waspitron ducked, only to run into Sam and Kyle's double kick. Waspitron was sent backwards, and landed on his back. Now the girls charged as Waspitron got up. Waspitron swung his staff high striking white, but taking a punch from pink ranger.

Green ranger rushed to white and asked, "Are you OK?"

"I'll be fine," she said getting up. "We need some fire power though, moves won't do it alone."

Andros got up and watched the new rangers fight. ‘Very creative, but their pattern is all wrong. The stronger one's in front, then strike with athleticism and agility,' Andros thought. Suddenly, his morpher buzzed. It was Zidron.

"Andros," said Zidron, "Tell the others to call for their tech-force battle weapons."

"OK, got it," Andros said hanging up. He watched as the red tech-force ranger tried a round house kick, but got slashed aside. Andros rushed to him and helped him to his feet. "Listen," said Andros, "Zidron says to call for your battle weapons, got it?"

"Got it," said Dave, "and thanks." Andros then rushed to the side to watch.

"Guys, watch me and follow!" Dave yelled as he again raised his right arm, "Tech-Force battle weapon, emerge!" At these words a blazing sword appeared in Dave's right arm. Dave then went back on the attack as the others called for theirs.

"Tech-Force battle weapon, emerge!" yelled Kyle. Suddenly, a lance appeared in Kyle's hands. Sam called for his, and a sledge hammer appeared in his arms. Laura called for hers, and a bow appeared in her arms that fired laser arrows. Sara called for hers, and daggers as sharp as arrow heads appeared in her hands. The others now joined Dave in the attack. Waspitron, who once dominated the fight, was now falling back. He couldn't dodge or block the hits coming from Laura, nor could he match the combined efforts of Dave's swordsmanship or Kyle's lance techniques.

Sara joined her brother and Kyle, while Sam was checking out his hammer. He saw a button on the handle and pressed it, then the tip began to glow a bright green. "I got it," said Sam as he lifted the hammer over his head. Sam then slammed the hammer's tip hard into the ground making the ground shake. He yelled, "Hammer Strike!" The ground was still shaking violently, but it was as if a string of force from it struck Waspitor. The monster fell back again as the rangers regrouped.

Andros received another call from Zidron, "Andros, the monster is on its last breath. Tell the rangers to form the tech-force blaster with their weapons."

"Will do," said Andros disconnecting. He turned to the rangers and yelled, "Guys, use your weapons and form your tech-force blaster!"

"OK, we'll try!" Dave yelled back.

Sam went first by converting his hammer, saying, "Green battle hammer! Rifle mode!" The tip of the handle turned into the barrel of what was now a large blaster. Sam threw it into the air, where it stayed as if it were floating.

"White Laser Bow!" yelled Laura throwing her bow which sat on top of the barrel of the blaster.

"Pink battle daggers!" yelled Sara throwing her daggers upward which connected to the bow that made other barrel shafts. Kyle followed next by taking his lance apart into two pieces, and added them on to the bow like the daggers, becoming two more barrels. And finally Dave added his sword on top, which seem to bring this new weapon to life.

He leapt into the air and grasped it, and as he landed, the others gathered around him to help steady it. "Tech-Force blaster!," yelled Dave.

Then the five rangers yelled in unison, "FIRE!" And from the five barrel's shot several beams of light, which found their mark in Waspitron's heart. The blast pierced the monster's flesh, and exited creating an explosion behind him. The rangers watched the monster tumble over, and then explode. They dismantled the blaster back into their individual weapons, and then discarded them.

Andros joined the others, who now were demorphed. "You guys were great!" Andros called, coming to them.

"Thanks," said Dave. "It means alot coming from you."

"Don't sweat it. Let's get back to the Command Chamber," said Andros. The six then teleported away out of the city which was safe, for the time being.

In the Command Chamber, the team celebrated their first victory. "I wouldn't get too over-confident," said Andros, which got them quiet. "That was just one monster. He told me that there are many more in the vortex just waiting for their shot."

"I don't understand though," said Dave. "What are they waiting for if they can strike at anytime?"

"Because with a leader and capable fighter like Zyron, they're playing their cards wisely. Today you've won, but you've given them valuable information," said Zidron. "They now know who you are, what some of your strengths and weaknesses are."

"So what you're saying is that this is just the beginning?" asked Sara.

"That is correct Sara," said Zidron. "They will never rest until they're gone or until they've won."

"Well, let them come," said Dave putting out his hand. "I'll be there to stop them."

"Me, too," said Kyle putting his hand on top of Dave's.

"Me, too," said Sam putting his hand on Kyle's.

"Me, too," said Sara putting her hand on Sam's.

"And me, too," said Laura putting her hand on Sara's.

"Who are we?" asked Dave, getting jazzed up.

"Power Rangers!" the five yelled in unison.
