Completed Games
Cosgrove's Air Escape
This was originally going to be a bonus stage in Cosgrove's Umbrella, but I decided to make it into its own minigame. Jump through the randomly generated levels and don't go past the top of the screen!
Cosgrove's Umbrella
10 levels of action-packed arcade fun are maxed out in this platform-style game. Guide Cosgrove the blob through three worlds to help him find his way home and defeat the weather demon, Meese.
Nebula Qila
This is the most ambitious project ever attempted by D.R. Incorporated Games. You pilot an alien craft as you do missions to attempt to save your solar system from being taken over by humans. It is an adventure/shooter and we're hoping to have at least 10 missions before it is complete.
Isometric Tournament
'Isometric Tournament' is the temporary title for this game until a better title is found. This is a two player game (on the same computer) in which you must defeat your opponent by shooting the blocks out from underneath them. Includes multiple game modes and is very customizable, and its great graphics add greatly to the gameplay.
Survival of the Fittest
This is not a game, but a simulator. It defines behavior for three species-- plants, herbivores, and carnivores-- and lets them interact. The creatures eat, reproduce, evolve and mutate, and try to survive. Very interesting to watch the evolution and the patterns in behavior.

Random Libs
This program allows you to load a template text file that contains commands such as !noun and !adj. It will then replace the commands with random words it finds in other lists that come with the program. It is in a one-script format and is editable. This means that you must have Game Maker 5 to run it. Download Demo (6 kb)
You must have Game Maker 5 or higher to open these examples.
Arrays and for loops: A tutorial
I've noticed that many gml programmers who consider themselves moderate or advanced have never taken the time to learn about these two wonderful things, and have no idea what they're missing. In this word doc/example, I do my best to explain each one, and then how to use them together. Download (10 kb)
Overhead vehicle control
This simple program demonstrates how to establish gta-style control for a vehicle. It also shows some things such as splitting the screen with two views, having one object orbit another, having one object point to another, and some other GM basics. Download (136 kb)
Mini-Map
This example shows how to draw a mini-map onscreen of the current room using colored pixels. Useful if you are making a RTS game or an overhead shooter. Download (4 kb)
Saving to an External File
With this you can learn how to use GML's file saving functions to save user preferences between uses of your program. In this, the user can choose a background color and it will be remembered next time they run the game. Download (2 kb)
Horizontally Moving Platforms
This shows how to establish horizontally moving platforms in a platform game and have the character ride them when it lands on them. Download (8 kb)
Parallax Scrolling Backgrounds
An example and flexible formula for adding quality parallax scrolling backgrounds to a platform game, or any other game where the character is not constantly moving. Download (10 kb)

The following games are those that we think are completely outstanding. They are reccommended to anyone and to all audiences (unless otherwise indicated). They are not made by D.R. Incorporated Studios.
Alex the Allegator 4
A retro jump 'n run platformer that is absolutely outstanding in every way. Play Alex as he journeys through amazing worlds to find his girlfriend, Lola, who has been kidnapped by humans hoping to turn her into some shoes. There is a full legnth review under the reviews section. The Download Page
LockOn
This game is in the style of an 80's arcade game. Its graphics and sounds are outstanding and unique, and you'll enjoy every minute playing it. Just shoot things that move, avoid other things that move, and aim for the best score!

SonicZone
A platform-style sonic clone, which is saying something because usually clones are not held in favor. This is an exception, with stunning graphics, great gameplay, and great everything else.
NOTE: the mirror I knew of that hosted this game was removed. So this download will not be available until I find another one.
Jetz Rampage 2
The graphics and sounds in this game immerse you perfectly in the world of Jetz, a character with a blue suit, a jetpack, and some serious anger issues. This is the funniest game on the favorites list, but also the most well-finished, with each small element of the cities you play in present and interactive. Go on violent missions to earn money and eventually a ticket to the next city.
Note: This is not recommended for all audiences because it is rather gory.

3105 AD
A classic vertical scrolling-shooter game. You're a spaceship, and your job is to shoot everything that moves, and even everything that doesn't move, until it blows up. Expert programming adds to the amazing graphics and sound, with never-before seen patterns and behaviors of ships and other objects. A wide variety of non-original but excellent music provides a background during gameplay.

Think your game deserves a spot on the D.R. Favorites List? There's no way to tell us! This is not the kind of thing where we have to sort through a flood of submissions. These games... we find ourselves. The criteria? A completed GM game that is exceptionally fun to play in every way and could easily pass for professional, whether it is or not.
