July 2004: We’re popular! Almost 1000 hits on this site since mid-June! So what’s up with that? Well, we have been trying to promote TALISMEN, so we like to think that helps. If we had to choose one thing, it is probably because Barb has been posting some of her TALISMEN art at fantasy artist websites like Elfwood.com and Epilogue.com. It appears some of the folks who have seen her art there have been coming over here to check us out. As they have done that, our listing in search engines like Google and Alta Vista has gone up making it easier for casual surfers to finds us, and it appears some of these folks have been dropping by, too. To all of you new to our site, we want to say welcome and thank you for checking us out! We hope you will come back to check on our progress and the updates to this site. Also, do feel free to drop us an email via the “contact us” page to let us know what you think of TALISMEN. June 2004 The deal with Eclectic Comics has run into some difficulties, so we have begun submitting TALISMEN to other comic book publishers. May 2004 Steve has finished writing the script for the first issue of THE KNIGHTMARE KNIFE mini-series. Work will begin on the second issue script after he takes a long nap. Also, keep checking the website for previews of some of Barb’s pages from the first issue. April 2004 Eclectic Comics wants to publish THE KNIGHMARE KNIFE as a three-issue comic book mini-series! The mini-series will be published sometime in 2005, and as soon as Eclectic gives us an exact date, we will post it here and on the website’s homepage.

Eclectic Comics has expressed interest in publishing a three-issue adaptation of THE KNIGHTMARE KNIFE. Check back here for more updates! Meanwhile, the novel manuscript for THE KNIGHTMARE KNIFE has been submitted to Scholastic Books as the first in a continuing fantasy-adventure series. Keep those fingers crossed. February 2004 Image Comics said, “No!” And Oni has never gotten back to us. Oh, well, we’ll keep plugging away. “Never give up! Never surrender!” (We don’t suppose anybody has an Omega-13 Device lying around handy though, would you?) January 2004 TALISMEN has been submitted to Image Comics as a potential prestige format property. We will let you know what they say. November 2003 If you haven’t checked out the TALISMEN website lately at www.angelfire.com/comics/talismen, you’re missing out! Barb has added a creators page, a page for fan art, an excerpt from the novel THE KNIGHTMARE KNIFE (still in progress), and lots more! Speaking of TALISMEN, a five-page story, “Calling the King,” will appear in full color in the December issue of Gateway Magazine (www.gatewaymonthly.com) beginning December 1. July 2003 Barb and Steve have submitted a proposal for TALISMEN to Oni Comics. We will let you know if we hear anything.

Steve has started writing the first novel in the TALISMEN series. It is called THE KNIGHTMARE KNIFE. And Barb has put together a website for the series. March 2003 Barb and Steve begin work adapting their COMMONWEALTH property into a youngreaders series. Tentative plans are to replace the original adult characters with 12-year-old counterparts. This new series will be called TALISMEN. Barb and Steve plan to tell the TALISMEN story in both novel and graphic novel formats to be released at the same time. (This should be a challenge!)
