I go by Cody. I am currently in my Sophmore year of college. My major used to be graphic design, but I soon realised that a degree in art is a waist when you have as much natural talent as myself *teeth gleeming smile*. I quickly changed my major to computer science, but I am afraid that the market will be saturated with computer scientists by the time I graduate, and I will be unable to find a job. I mean, the market is already crappy. I'm afraid we are going to build computers to replace computer scientists. Then all we will need are a couple of old guys to monitor those robots. Anyway, I attend the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX. It is a small, private "Christian" school. In my opinion, however, there are a very many examples of what is NOT christ like behavior located there, but thats everywhere I suppose. I guess I just had higher standards for a school like with such high acclaim. Oh, don't get me wrong, it has nothing to do with the staff. Its mainly the student body. Parents forcing their kids to go there in a last ditch effort to saturate them in Christianity before they go OD at some party. Where did they go wrong? I'll tell you. HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS PROGRAMS(except for track, thats ok). Oh well, mission failed, hehehe. You see, the school's small size is both a blessing and a curse. Being small, it is easy for students to blend in and become comfortable in the environment. The down-side is that it is very similar to high school. Therefore, certain groups of students have yet to mature in the fashion that most would when graduating and attending a larger school. Big schools are like shock treatment in responsiblity (or so I believe).

I am president of the Ghettys dormitory on campus at UMHB. I am also Vice Chair of the Association of Computing Machinery. As president of the dorm I am the official party organizer. As vice chair I....well I do the same stuff as everyone else except I get a neat title. ACM is cool because it tests or ablity to solve problems using a logical train of thought through the use of our l337 haxxor programming skillz. My roommate is Corey Johnson. Corey is a great guy. He's a large black guy who is the complete opposite of the stereotype big black guys have. He likes to play with small mammals. No, he's not gay. Neither am I. I have a girlfriend. Her name is Melinda Hawkins, and she has been my artistic rival since the 7th grade. However we have only recently become a couple(Dec. 8, 2002). Her website can be found [HERE]. I love her very much. YAY. ^_^

I like martial arts. I can't stand what they have become though. Kata's and Traditions. BLAH. Tradition is good, however it should serve us. It would seem that most schools have become slaves to it. Limiting themselves to certain technique styles. I study Jeet Kun Do through books. I previously attended a Tai Kwon Do school. That is where I got my basics. It was a good starting point, and there were some good fighters, but we did not spar enough, and I grew bored doing their dances. In addition, there is the insane prices of the classes. After the first couple of weeks, I found that I no longer needed instruction. After the basics, all that is left is mastery of techiniques and dances. All of which I could do on my own. I often spend time small weight training and punching my heavy bag. I challenge my friends who are also martial artists to a fight, but my results are not promising. Practice is nothing without application. Enough about this.

People might call me "an otaku". I've chosen not to take this title as an insult, as it is intended. However, I don't lable my as such. I'm just a simple, poor, white boy who likes the cartoons and comics that japan creates. I'm not exclusive to Japan though. I like the style of art and storytelling in general, and if there is another who can create such a piece accuratly, I embrace it. However, non-Japanese examples of this are rare. Afterall, the style is just really catching on in other countries.

People may say I'm mainstream, or that I'm not a true Otaku. First, They are lame! Since when do the people who like Japanese CARTOONS have to be part of a secret underground club full of grungy little perverts who never bathe? Those people stick to their little clubs and shun the procreation of the art form they love so in an effort to feel like they are special. Second, Mainstream is as such for a reason, its good stuff(usually).
