Welp, CNN is up and running. Unfortuneately, its only me doing the updates and such and, as I'm sure you've noticed, I'm not the best writer.

That's where you guys come in! I'm going to need people to write articles for CNN as well as do updates and even someone to check the teams often and record who is doing what for CNN sports.

If your interested in this, give me ring on ICQ or contact DarkAngel, my associate in crime!

1. We are purging the sites. This means that if you want to stay a clown you will need to reapply to both sites. If you are here now, your application will be automatically accepted.

2. Our primary site next set will be Estats. All of us will still have access to GT and EZ. EZ will be kept for historical purposes only. All boards, except for the Member Forum, will be disabled.

All site communication wil be done at Estats. 3. We will continue to have the same teams for next set, except for Krusty Klowns. Some people may be moved around, especially those in KK. KK people will be distributed among the other teams depending on their playing desire...kill or net.

4. Next set we will all try our best to avoid any conflicts. Thats right, our goal is to hug trees. To do this our FA team has been working very hard to get pacts with all major alliances.

5. Check estats before the end of the set, before the purge, and after the purge for our new and improved rules. Our landgrab policy will slightly change making it easier for us to get fatter countries. The chain of Command should also be updated soon; there you will find the duties and responsibilities of each position in Clowns With Guns.

6. We are currently in talks with other small to mid-sized alliances about mergers. Be assured that if and when a merger does occur our name Clowns With Guns and tag "Clowns" will not change. As long as we have me as Ringmaster I will not tolerate any change to our name and tag.

7. Speaking of mergers...Dual Ringmasters may be a possibility. If not next set, some time inthe near future. If and when I step down, there will be dual Ringmasters taking over. Next set will be the beginning of such a setup with the creation of the Clown Council (not to be confused with the Ringmaster Council, which has inactive, retired, ex-Ringmasters...they are different entities).

8. There are folks that have begun updating CNN (Clown News Network). Look for it in Estats sometime in the near future. I'm sure volunteers are needed and welcomed.

GOALS GOALS GOALS GOALS

Our number one goal will be to have top countries in CWG. We have and are getting very good players that have the potential to run top countries.

Clowns With Guns has worked hard for six years to get respect and recognition. We have been able to do that with the level of fun we bring to the game. But people think we can't run countries. We will show them...we have advisors, listen to them...listen to your team leaders.

Ally with CWG countries only whenever possible. And don't get useless pacts. Researches pact with researches. I know this is obvious, but some of us need to be reminded. Offensive pacts should be reserved and done by top breakers only. If you're a bottom feeder, don't waste your resources getting an offensive pact.

Thats it for now...I will be back with more later...

Marius's guide to bot grabbing.
Marius
8.11.03

The bots that ran rampant during the May to August set proved to be a cheap and easy way for all Earth players to get land. The jet bots were just too easy, for they never went above a 10k jet SS to break. I am not just suggesting but almost telling you guys to farm them this coming set. I mean, all other Earth alliances are doing so. Not doing this will put you at a distinct disadvantage. It's a very simple thing to do, and I'll show you how now.

For GT:
Go to Reports and then Country Report. Only look for Facists, and set it to search for Neutral only. Deselect GDI, and set it so they have been hit no more than 0 times in the past 24 hrs and not hit by you the past 99 days. Have the NW be between 40kNw and 1milNW, and sort by land. Or you could follow this picture, making specific note of what I have outlined in red: http://cwg.earthstats.net/user/cwg/GTBotSearch.jpg

For ES:
Go to Tools and then Country Search. Only look for Facists, and set Pact Stats to No Relation. Do not include countries you've hit, and Include Countries Your Allianace Has Hit "Only If It's Been 72 Hours." Do not include Dead, GDI, or Vacation countries. Have Networth (In Millions) be "Between 40kNW and 1milNW", and have the Number of Times Attacked 24 Hrs be "0". Finally, Sort By "Land." Or you could follow this picture, making specific note of what I have outlined in red: http://cwg.earthstats.net/user/cwg/ESBotSearch.jpg

Whichever way you choose, do a news search for the past week or so for the countries to see if they've done a lot of BR's. If they have, you can take a chance and not spy. 10k jet SS or 8k jet PS should break all the way to the point where you're NW is too high and the humanitarians stop you from attacking them. But if you don't like blind attacking, feel free to spy.

I fully expect to see you Clowns with at LEAST 15k by the end of the set.

Aight beeches. Ima lay sumpin aht foh yas.

If you're new to CWG, welcome to an alliance that wars. Often. If you're old to CWG, you already knew this, hang out anyway maybe I'll say something new.

First -

Inability to netgain does NOT make you a "fighting country". All too often someone who can not or will not make the effort to build a decent country will claim, "But I'm a fighter!! I have spirit!! I'll give my life for CWG!"

Lemme let you in on a little secret, if your country sucks ass, givin' your life will not only be easy, it'll be pointless.

Second -

Netgaining does not mean that you suddenly are a tree hugging hippy gay boy. This myth has floated around this alliance and others for awhile. The brutal simple truth is that to fight, you need a few things, like military, tech, food, money, and land. Oddly enough, all of these positively affect networth! The baddest war mongers know that a solid, well built country not only survives the conflict, but it helps make sure the other guys do NOT survive the conflict. Capiche?

Third -

Missles are not a gift from God that fall into your lap on lucky days. You gotta earn 'em people, and that you do by purchasing a crapload of warfare tech. Put 4% warfare on your sturdy little bruiser and you'll not only be a soldier, but a missle silo. There is nothin' finer than rebuilding readiness by shooting missles instead of jerkin' off.  Knowing that the bad guys like to nuke too,  prepare yourself to defend against missles. This means lots of SDI. All the tanks and troops in the world won't save you from a missle barrage if your SDI is low. If the enemy spots that you're weak in that area, it'll take 'em about 3 minutes to reduce your once proud nation to 1/10th its original size - and effectively out of the war.

Fourth -

I shouldn't have to tell you this, but I will anyway. WEAPON TECH IS A MUST. Anyone with less than 135% is not really serious about his fighting or his land grabbing.

Fifth -

Conditioning helps. How much is relative to the size of your military and how much you're sending out to play. If you're buff in your other tech areas and got a few dollars to spend? Go for it.

Sixth -

Medical tech is cheaper than the military it saves. Make sense?

Seventh -

10:1 SPAL is oh so nice to have. In a war, stirrin' rebellions is a good way to pass the time when your readiness is low and your missles are already irradiating your enemies civilians.

Eighth -

There are bad fighting governments and good ones. Dictator is good, for obvious reasons, Rep bad, for obvious reasons. When deciding what to do with yourself keep these things in mind. If you're playing the Commie indy strat this set, don't worry, they aren't the best fighters but they're good and certainly the easiest. Remember that when war comes, keep more money on hand than you think you could ever possibly need. Understand the market and don't show up with 75 turns and flat broke because your shit didn't sell. FAILURE TO SELL YOUR SHIT WHEN YOU KNEW A WARROOM WAS COMING UP IS YOUR FAULT. Being penniless and having your comrades FA you money is an utter waste. Three turns when they could have been fighting, they're helping you because you didn't plan ahead.

Ninth -

If CWG managed to go this reset without a war, following any of this wouldn't hurt you a bit. High tech levels, market skills, spy ratios, etc., are all needed by everyone who intends to aid this alliance by creating a healthy country.

Tenth -

This alliance rules. There are 150+ pissed off, gun toting, beer guzzling lunatics just waiting for a reason to shoot and then urinate on an enemy. Be one of the guys that carries an automatic and lots of rounds.
