A Little History Of Anam Caras

Anam Caras (Ah-nam KŠr-as Gaelic ÒSoul FriendsÓ) are everywhere. Most people can't see them or feel them, and what's more, they've never even heard of them. Why legends of Fairies, Leprechauns, and Pookas are well known and stories of Anam Caras are not, no one knows. To adults who have heard of them, Anam Caras are vaguely remembered mythical creatures from a land of fable. But to children who have seen them, they are as real as the earth and as luminous as the moon.

Anam Caras are an order of ancient mystical beings similar to Guardian Angels, what the Greeks refer to as Muses, and Eskimos call Animal-souls. Immortal Anam Caras come and go freely between our world and their beautiful parallel otherworld called T’r-Anam (Gaelic ÒThe Land of SoulÓ). They are protectors of the soul, guardians of the heart, and guides of the spirit.

Anam Caras love children. They love all children from every corner of the earth, every color and size and shape, no matter if they are rich or poor. They love children for their inherent kindness. They love children for their extraordinary creativity. But, mostly, Anam Caras love children for their potential! Furthermore, The Anam Caras have a mission. They believe peace is possible. Their benevolent leader, Danœ the Goddess of Bogha B‡ist’ (Gaelic ÒRainbowÓ) said, ÒWorld peace begins in the heart of each an every person on the face of the earth.Ó To that end, the Anam Caras magically appear, to one child at a time.
