As a commercial painter and artisan for the past thirty years, Allen has provided
a consistent level of quality and craftsmanship through his endeavors in the art of
painting and decorating. Through his work in the insurance restoration field, he has
achieved an expertise at matching paint and stain colors, textures and a large
variety of finishes.
With the establishment of Visual Arts Design Inc., Allen has
drawn upon his lifelong involvement in the fine arts and graphic design, expanding
his repetoire in to more exotic faux and cabinet finishes, trompe l'oile and mural
painting.
A self taught artist, Allen has sought to improve his knowledge and
education through classes at the Community College of Denver and the Colorado
Institute of Art.
Working mainly in acrylics, pen and ink and graphite, he has shown
works at the Gilpin County Arts Association and through the Colorado Artists Guild
and has produced various graphic designs, logos and murals for a variety of
Colorado businesses and non-profit organizations.
