At first I wasn’t quite sure what I was feeling.
Then I started to realize that you were peeling,
Away the layers of protection that I had made,
I thought that the price was already paid.
Thought that my heart had all it could take.
That I would never find another to take
My life back to the way it should be
I knew no one that could take my breath away,
Then you came around and I decided to stay,

After I had been assaulted by lie after lie,
I wasn’t sure that I could trust anyone,
But something told me you might just be the one,
Something in your voice called to me,
And that sound made me see,
That you were the one to save me,
The one to make me be able to see,
That the walls around my heart weren’t there,

But because I was afraid of True Love.
