Texas Jack’s real name was John Vermillion. He was a carpenter by trade. He was also considered a crack-shot with a gun by those who knew him. He rode with Wyatt Earp's posse after the killing of Morgan Earp, in search of those that Wyatt deemed responsible. In the battle at Sulpher Springs were Wyatt killed Curley Bill Brocius, Texas Jack's horse was shot and Wyatt rescued Texas Jack.  He died in Chicago and was buried in Virginia.

Not a lot of info on much of the details of Texas Jack available on the web. Another less known Old West figure
brought to the forefront due to his association with Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday.
